Stripes
Uh. Don't think ArmyBengal intended any offense whatsoever there.Anyway, I am furious at the Bengals front office for signing these rookies so quickly! They could wait it out and squeeze out a few extra bucks to decrease TICKET PRICES. Awwwwww rabble rabble rabble :P/>
ArmyBengal
People still worrying about this getting done ??My apologies for posting news about the Bengals on a Bengals board. :finger:/>Army backs away slowly. It wasn't a shot at anyone Hoosier, just a general question.People seemed to be worried about the picks getting signed and I said from the jump there was no reason for it.The question was geared toward that earlier conversation. In regards to the thread title, Bernard has also signed:/>http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/05/23/bengals-sign-second-rounder-giovani-bernard/The Bengals must have plans for Memorial Day weekend. According to Geoff Hobson of the team’s official website, the Bengals have signed second-round pick Giovani Bernard. That leaves just two unsigned picks from their 10-man class, first-rounder Tyler Eifert and third-rounder Shawn Williams. Bernard, a running back from North Carolina, has an opportunity to have a significant impact for the Bengals this year. He averaged 5.87 yards per carry in college, topping 1,200 yards in each of the two seasons he played at UNC. He’s small, but has explosive ability in the open field, adding something to the backfield the Bengals lacked.
ArmyBengal
Fking slow-a$$ Bengals, why can't they ever be proactive and get their draft picks signed before July? :lmao:/>/>7th round pick TJ Johnson done. $2.2 million, $46k to sign.:sure:/>/> Keep 'em coming.Wake me up when Eifert and Bernard sign.Wake up Wraith, we are half way there. jjakq27
How many other first rounders have signed so far and are any around Eifert?
ArmyBengal
I see only 4 first rounders, but one of them is Kyle Long to the Bears right before Eifert.I didn't see the terms.
HoosierCat
4 years, $8.3 million. All but about $760k is guaranteed./>http://my.chicagotribune.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-76009635/

HoosierCat
Bump. 23 days out and Eifert remains unsigned. In fact most of the first round is still not under contract./>http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/0ap1000000168476/article/2013-nfl-draft-firstround-picks-signing-status
volcom69
Yea seems strange i figured most would be done by now, but hopefully in the next week or so it will get done.
HoosierCat
That would be nice. The fact so many first rounders are still unsigned makes me wonder if something isn't going on, some new contract wrinkle that one side or the other is resisting.
TJJackson
Apparently, the new wrinkle is this - "well, you aren't paying me sh1t compared to rookies in past years, so I want it ALL guarenteed"not saying Eifert is in this camp - no idea - speaking only in general
ArmyBengal
Yeah, that whole offset language about not getting the contract guaranteed seems to be the new sticking point to hold things up.I don't think Eifert is in the mix, as far as holding things up, but you know we like two players on either side of our pick to be signed before we make a move.I just don't want to see him miss any time.
HoosierCat
Yah, I agree the guarantee language is a likely suspect. I just haven't read anything confirming that, other than some PFT speculation that it might cause problems months ago.
jjakq27
Nos. 14-17 have signed and No. 20 has also signed just ahead of Eifert. The next signed player after that is at No. 30. I just hope his agent isn't pulling for WR money or something like that./>http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/78309/contract-status-of-2013-nfl-first-round-draft-picks
