cincyhokie
Depressing. In the short term, yes. The rest of this year is likely to be a downer. But I actually feel pretty good about the team going forward. Get the O a stud RB and a legit No. 2 WR and I think they perk way up. Address safety and LB on defense. Extend Moobs and Atkins. Get Cook back, Dre on the field, keep developing Vontaze. Bottom line, I think this year is a bump, not a collapse. We've been watching "bumps in the road" for 22 years now.+

This had a winning season last year, and to regress the way they have is just awful, screw this coach and coaching staff, and org!
Stripes
Who do y'all want to replace Marvin? That's not meant to be a snarky question. I want him fired too. Tomorrow.I don't think there's any realistic opportunity for them to bring in one of the big names that people always mention like Cowher or Schottenheimer. So they'd have to try a hot-shot coordinator. Would you prefer they take a hot hand from outside the organization, or promote one among Zimmer/Gruden (or even Hue)?Probably won't happen either way though. BengalszoneBilly
Who do y'all want to replace Marvin?Gruden, Zimmer, anyone who has a pair. Lewis just isn't HC material.

volcom69
Can we go back in time and take Doug Martin instead of Dre Kirkpatrick? Yep the bengals fail to fix there running game. They have not drafted a RB higher then the 6th rd since Kenny irons, no wonder they suck.

Nope and it dosnt matter who's playing they find a way to win! They have many back ups, but they don't care.
BengalszoneBilly
Can we go back in time and take Doug Martin instead of Dre Kirkpatrick? If my time machine wasn't in the shop I'd do it. Martin is a beast. Dre is useless.
cincyhokie
I wanted us to take Martin, who was closely compared to Ray Rice coming out of Boise State. You'd think that in a division OWNED by Ray Rice, we'd add a key piece to match what the Ravens have. COB
This little stretch we're in has all the earmarks of a classic Marvin losing streak. I'd put the over under at 8. And I'd take the over.
ArmyBengal
Random Marvin quotes after the game yesterday:“Losing is bad.""I thought we came out and showed.""It comes to we all have to do well on every play.""I don’t know anything to do but grind harder.""So we have to play consistent football throughout the football game.""We just have to keep firing at them.""We have to find a way to make a play."There you have it folks. They don't need more leadership, they don't need to get angry either.THEY NEED TO GRIND HARDER AND KEEP FIRING !!!

ArmyBengal
If you really want to piss yourself off, go back and read the post game comments from Marvin for the past 4 weeks.Nothing to see here, move along...
COB
Marvin got all pissed off when his comments about his leaders on offense and defense needing to get more pissed off got attention in the paper. Then he went on a little mini tirade about how he now knows he can't say anything. How from now on he won't say anything, because his comments keep getting taken out of context.Right Marvin, the problem with this team is how your comments keep getting taken out of context by the media. Shut your f**king face. Your not Bill Bellicheck, so quit trying to talk like him. Try being real for once. Then maybe people will see you as a human being who's trying all he can to fix something that isn't working, instead of a know-it-all snob who thinks he's too good to have to explain anything to the lowly fans. cHaD711Johnson
This thread is hilarious. The team just isn't good enough. Too many holes, patchwork secondary, patchwork linebacker corp, lack of an explosive running back. The team isn't good enough. We definitely should be better than where we are right now, but the team just isn't good enough. Coaching and personnel BOTH have been issues. When you have to bring back Chris Crocker after how bad he sucked last year and he begins getting significant snaps, then that shows you the problem there. Hopefully, we can steal some games going forward, but I'm not too enthused anymore. Just bring on the offseason.

But it should be noted that many of those holes were created by a coaching staff that thought it could do better or undervalued the guys in those spots last year. To use Bill Parcells' old analogy, you're right that many of the groceries are rotten. But Lewis was the one who went shopping.
ArmyBengal
It cannot be forgotten that Marvin has kept saying this is a team full of "His guys".Well, his guys seem to suck. Who do we blame for that, the players that suck or the dumbass who brought them in and was happy about it ??
