rwjcgc
I know after a loss is a tough time to analyze anything but how much of this is Marvin's fault? It seems like there are very few game changers on this team. The defense just appearstoo soft overall. Is it the scheme or lack of talent? To Marvin's ability to motivate, his teams seemto have fragile egos and fall apart quickly when things don't go their way.Offensively Green is a monster and Gruden's favorite play is to send it his way regardless of coverage and pray. Are the running game woes, line, running back, or scheme related? The play selection overall seems very predictablemost of the time. Is Gruden hamstrung by a general lack of talent? To my eye, the line play is the root of the problem on both sides. I think the team is failing to bring in theright players to win. After his long tenure and average results I don't think us fans have much hope to see much real improvement.I just don't see Marvin ever winning a playoff game. Mike Brown's W-L track record (Marvin's tenure and beyond) is terrible (historically bad). He isn't going to fire himself or give up control, so things are probably destined to stay about the same till he decides to hang it up. volcom69
I dont know but when i see a team like the 49ers, who sucked for quite sometime, and Alex Smith was a horrible QB. In comes a new coaching staff, and all of a sudden they are one of the NFCs top team, Alex Smith looks pretty good.Marvin has had years and years to get this right, and to have a consistant team, and it has yet to happen. They have yet to figure out how to handle success, they make stupid turnovers, have stupid penalties. They have had a couple years now to fix the running game, and have yet done it. Is he a horrible coach probably not, but i also think he has done all can do with this team. A couple of great seasons, but the next year this team goes back to being the same old Bengals. So is it coaching, in alot of ways i think it is.

volcom69
Hes not going anywhere i think we all know that. He called out his players saying they were playing "too nice". Hmmm maybe they are just playing like there coach coaches?? I dont know but something has to change, there is talent on this roster, its about time to get the most out of it. ArmyBengal
He called out his players saying they were playing "too nice".Impossible.Maybe he didn't hear that his players were angry after the Dolphins loss.D*mn, as the coach, you think you would know things like that... ShulaSteakhouse
Outscored 57-10 this year in the 3rd quarter.Maybe Marvin should look in the mirror too.So sick of him.

He has had years to fix this team fix the the problems that has not happened. This is a horribly coached team, and I agree he needs to start looking at himself alittle harder. Time to move on from this guy, any hope I had is done with him and these coaches.
BengalszoneBilly
I'm watching Sports Center, and coach Reid of the Eagles standing up, taking the blame for his teams loss, yet our coach Lewis says his players are at fault.C'mon man! ArmyBengal
What i'm sick of hearing over the past few years is how he finally has a team full of "his type of players".Well, how do you have a team full of your type of players that you say don't play very hard and then have those same players say they don't agree with that thought at all ??Sounds a little dysfunctional to me... Oh, be real. Lewis has stepped up taken the blame time and time again. And Andy Reid has bumbled some of the most talented teams in the league for years now. Let's not even compare the two. Reid has a franchise that spends big money on top free agents, drafts well, and he still is a dud of a coach.
ArmyBengal
Andy Reid is garbage as a coach. Can't say as I worry much about what he has to say either. That being said, i've defended coach Lewis many times and am about done.Something isn't right and as a coach, it needs to be figured out.If it can't be, then it's time to move on. volcom69
What has Lewis really done here? Sure he changed a lot for this team that was horrible in the 90,s, got a lot of 8-8 records and a couple winning seasons, but where is the consistency at? At some point a team that does great the year before, needs to find a way to succeed the next year not go backwards. I put a lot of blame on Marvin and this coaching staff for not being able to do that. This is a Marvin Lewis team, the one he built, the one he said this year was his most complete team since he has been here, so where's it at? I just think its time for somebody else to take this team to the next level, he had 11years to win big games and he has failed to do so. I just know that as long as he is the coach my hopes will be down.
Wraith
Sometimes teams need to hear a different voice. Big fan of Marvin but maybe to get this team to the next level someone else needs to be at the helm.

volcom69
We as fans have been through way to much for this crap! Is it to freaking much to ask Marvin that for once you can follow a good season with an even better season!
COB
Just beat the Steelers Sunday night on national tv and all is forgiven, Marvin. If Marvin gets fired, where does anyone think he'll end up? I imagine him replacing Dick LeBeau at Pitt as D. Coordinator, a move that would probably land me in a psych ward somewhere. ArmyBengal
Marvin would definitely get a DC position with little thought.Maybe even a HC gig somewhere else needing to be brought from sh*t to mediocrity.
volcom69
Interesting note I just read where on offense there passing attempts is way up, and there rushing attempts are way low from last year. So is Brat coaching this offense again? Freaking fix the running game Marvin you have had since 09 to fix it and its still broke! Can I imagine what would have happened if they ran the ball yesterday when they had the lead, probably won.So where is this so called power running Gruden was supposed to bring? Oh wait the bengals haven't drafted a running back before the 6th round since what Kenny Irons was drafted! Fix the running Gruden/Marvin, play ball control and stop Andy from throwing it over 40 times a game, bad things happen!

Maybe Jay Gruden, maybe Zimmer... somebody. Somebody other than Marvin. As it is, this is simply not working.... These games are must wins, considering the schedule and the competition. Miami and Cleveland, with their rookie QB's... Making them look like Montana and Brady. And the offense still plays undisciplined and we are not seeing the steady progress with Dalton. He takes stupis sacks, he does not manage the clock, he telegraphs throws and is just slightly above average. When you are average, you need to be near perfect to win. WHen he makes mistakes (the kind he should not make), the Bengals lose. So, to me, Marvin's time has expired. He's handing off the team in better shape than when he arrived, and somebody else needs a shot here forward. Count me in for dumping ML. There IS some big guys, in Roland and Collins, to come in for the jumbo smashmouth running scheme. DId they suddenly FORGET how to go dinosaur and maul people? Had they gone to major ISO and Power running, with the big extra guys, they win that game.WTF happened to the daring, scheming stuff Gruden had been dialing up? Adjusting to that after halftime, they absolutely win that game. Its a game they simply could not afford to lose. Now, they go to Steelers who have their season on line and a both facing a must win game. Having Miami and Cleveland in their pocket as wins would make this Steelers game FAR more balanced. Grnated, the Steelers are not playing well but we all know how this D makes even rookies look like Marino and Montana. It should make Big Ben think he has a crack at some NFL single game records.... Where is the jumbo package, power running game, where the hell is the WCO? Last year Dalton had 9 games where he didn't throw an int, I think he needs to go back and see what he was doing right. Right now this team is so lost, I really do feel like Brat is running this offense again!
