HoosierCat Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 Welcome back, Chris. The signing says a couple things to me: One, Clements' injury is significant. Two, the Taylor Mays experiment has been a flop. Quote
cincyhokie Posted September 27, 2012 Author Report Posted September 27, 2012 I'm going to go out on a limb and say safety will be a priority in the draft this year. Quote

Sea Ray Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 I guess they couldn't reach Ifeanyi Ohalete? Quote

volcom69 Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 Welcome back Chris. I think this is a move that had to happen, he knows the defense and can help line guys up. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 So in other words, continue to expect there to be missed tackles and generally poor play from the secondary.I would rather Miles get start and see Crocker as a "just in case" option. Quote
Stripes Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 Immediate upgrade over Mays/Miles, hopefully. Those two definitely represent the Bengals' biggest defensive shortcomings, in my opinion. More than Maualuga. Quote
volcom69 Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 I like it just because he was a leader, and he can get guys lined up in the right spots. Hall, Clemants, Allen not practicing so they are super thin esp at corner now. Quote
volcom69 Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 They released Donald Lee which sucks I really liked his play, but maybe the injury was slowing him down. They still have that blocking TE who we have not seen yet. Maybe more Orson Charles from here on out. Quote
cHaD711Johnson Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 Donald Lee cut to make room. His injury may be pretty serious then, but the team is also clearly happy with Orson Charles. Quote
cincyhokie Posted September 27, 2012 Author Report Posted September 27, 2012 Good news for the fact that the move is not indicative of Clements or Hall being IR'ed. Quote
COB Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 Welcome back Chris Crocker! One of my favorite Bengals ever. I'll remind everyone of that play where he knocked Santonio Holmes into immediate pre-dementia, then stared down the Pittsburgh bench. One of my favorite plays of the last ten years. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 Now if can come back to play with that intensity COB, i'm all about it. That was awesome. However, if he comes back the way he left. I have zero interest.Thank God there's always hope. Quote

HoosierCat Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 They released Donald Lee which sucks I really liked his play, but maybe the injury was slowing him down. Well, if by "slowing him down" you mean "preventing him from playing at all" then yeah. I thought Lee was solid last season as well but if he can't get healthy then that roster spot needs to be used elsewhere. That said, the TE spot has quietly taken a sizeable hit early on. Cochart gone, Lee gone, the only TE left from 2011 is Gresham. I'm not sure that's an example of good positional churn on the part of the Bengals. Quote
wpeldios Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 Ugh, our secondary is not good. Dont see this as helping as Crocker had become quite the liability himself at the end of his time here. Quote
Walrus Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 Welcome back, Chris. Ndukwe's available, too. Let's get the band back together! Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 Ugh, our secondary is not good. Dont see this as helping as Crocker had become quite the liability himself at the end of his time here.I don't recall Crocker being all that bad overall last season, but he was clearly wearing down by the end of the year. If he can hold down the fort at SS until Clements can heal up, I think the two of them would make a pretty decent 1-2 at the position. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 28, 2012 Report Posted September 28, 2012 Yeah and bring Nate Webster back to help out the LB Corps.Oh that's right. Forget about it... Quote
volcom69 Posted September 28, 2012 Report Posted September 28, 2012 Anybody else wanna see what Chris Lewis Harris could do off the practice squad. He was a guy that i was very impressed with in preseason, and probably would be the fastest CB on the team. With all these guys down if for some reason they may be out awhile, i would love to see him step in a play some. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 28, 2012 Report Posted September 28, 2012 I was reading the new article on the official site and realized something.Maybe it's something that Crocker will be able to channel into his playing. He's no longer wearing #42. Now it's #33.Anyone ?? This shouldn't take long... Quote
