TJJackson
From: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8344154/nfl-2012-indispensables-list6. A.J. Green, WR, Cincinnati: If Green had as much personality as his predecessor, Chad Johnson, he'd be as hyped as any receiver in the NFL. Because he plays in Cincinnati, casual observers may have no idea how special he is. All Green did in 2011 was make the Pro Bowl in his rookie season and create excitement about what he could become over the next decade. He helped an unheralded rookie quarterback, Andy Dalton, look better than he actually is. His presence allowed the Bengals to forget about the way former starting quarterback Carson Palmer abandoned them and the antics that turned Johnson into a sideshow. Oh yeah, the Bengals made the playoffs in a season in which most experts picked them to go nowhere. Take Green away from the Bengals -- a team with no other proven wideout -- and they're not even contending. He's that good.
HoosierCat
I would say Daltom is more indispensable than Greem.Of course, you do know that it doesn't matter as long as Mike Browm is in charge. Now, if we only had Esiasom back at QB then ESPM would love us.(Man it's weird how much stuff ends in n, eh? )

ArmyBengal
Green is special and there's little doubt about that. I won't be taking anything away from him in that regard. However, Dalton is no slouch by any stretch. Someone has to throw the ball in Green's direction right ??Can't it be just as easily argued that had Dalton not thrown the ball in a place Green could make the catch, Green isn't part of this equation right now ?? Isn't it a receivers JOB to catch the ball when it's thrown within a reasonable area for him to make a play ??I hate when people make it sound like anyone can go out there and do what Dalton did if they simply had an AJ Green on the other side of a throw. Again, not taking anything away from Green, because I sure do love having him in stripes and wanted the Bengals to draft him.I'll tell you what, lets watch what happens with the teams starting rookie QB's this season and see what happens.I mean, I don't know how many of them are picked to finish as the worst team in the league or will have a rookie #1 WR as well as a brand new OC, but they will all have had minicamps, OTAs, camp, and preseason. Wonder how many will be able to duplicate what Dalton did last season ??

princeton
Pat Sims turned out to be indispensable in 2011. Go figure. Hopefully that's not true in 2012 Brandon Thompson, I'm lookin' at you
Stripes
Rob Gronkowski makes no sense on that list.
COB
Gronkowski is just the current media darling. He's already been on the cover of SI, and if the Patriots have a good year we'll all be so sick of Gronkowski coverage by January that we'll probably hate the guy. Which isn't fair because for all I know he's a good guy, but get ready because he's about to be in the middle of a media firestorm.

wpeldios
I actually said last year I thought Green was more valuable to this team than Dalton. I do not mean that as a knock. Dalton is what he is, a poised, solid qb with a competitive nature that shines through on game day. I love Dalton, I really do. However, AJ Green(who I vehemently argued against drafting, my bad), is a special player. You can say what you want, but he did make Dalton look better than he actually was. And I believed the team would have been much worse off without him last year than Dalton, and I will back that up again this year. Again, I like Dalton and he is a solid player. But Green is on a level that few can reach.

Seriously, that was bad. I am of course joking and appreciate him helping me win 2 fantasy championships last year.
