101Airborne
Well, there's the Safety I was wondering about. Great choice here!
HoosierCat
CBS:Strengths: Possesses an imposing stature with a large frame for the safety position and above average length (nearly 34-inch arms). Good speed in pursuit with the chase skills to track down the ballcarrier. Has good football awareness to read-react quickly and stay balanced and patient in space. Quick footed with the smooth body flexibility and coordination to cover a lot of ground. Gives up his body in run support and enjoys contact with very good closing burst to plant and explode towards the play. Hard downhill hitter and solid tackler with the long arms to wrap. Has good ball skills to locate and attack the ball in the air. Possesses a versatile skills set to play in various zone and man coverages with the ability to cover both receivers and tight ends -- good size match-up against bigger targets because of his height and length. A top competitor with very good practice habits -- hard worker on and off the field. Has good playing experience, starting the final 45 games of his career with time at both cornerback and safety. Weaknesses: Has a lean, narrow frame and needs to get stronger -- doesn't have the body type to get too much bigger with limited growth potential. Has tense ankles and hips with choppy footwork when attempting to redirect and doesn't always look natural changing directions. Tends to play leggy and needs to tighten his angles in pursuit. Will slide off tackle attempts at times and needs to show better tackling technique to consistently finish. Wasn't overly productive and never led the team in tackles, putting together an average senior season with 1 pass break-up and zero interceptions in 2011. Has questionable on-field attitude and needs to play more disciplined and calm -- taken out of games in the past by coaching staff for minor scuffles and poor sportsmanship (has also gotten into a few shouting matches with head coach Chris Peterson after being removed from the game). NFL Comparison: Kam Chancellor, Seattle Seahawks -- Dane Brugler
ArmyBengal
Compares to Kam Chancellor of the Seahawks huh ??The one who is a starter in their secondary right ??Sure I will be happy with that !!!
derekshank
GEORGE ILOKA - FS - BOISE STATE (No. 67 Overall)STRENGTHS: Very good size at 6’3, 225 pounds and he has the ability to play either free or strong safety. Has good instincts when going up to play the run and can deliver the hit. His size really gives him an advantage, but he must utilize it better.WEAKNESSES: Doesn’t get a great break on the ball and will occasionally take a bad angle. Doesn’t have exceptional speed and will struggle if asked to go one-on-one against NFL receivers right away.OVERALL: His speed and raw ability makes him worth the project pick. Iloka has good value to play either free or strong safety.

TJJackson
I am really hating these later picksHere we have a S who ran a 4.6/4.7 at the combine ---AND--- decided to not try to improve it at his pro day. In fact, he chose not to participate in his pro day at all. http://voices.idahostatesman.com/2012/02/28/ccripe/boise_state_safety_george_iloka_runs_40_459_seconds_first_attempNot smart. Not smart at all.

membengal
Yup, thats one. One in all your years on this board. Otherwise perpetual surprise from you that late round picks have holes in tbeir game, which seems selfevident given where they are being drafted... derekshank
everyone Ahem. Not everyone. Fair enough. But I'm included in the everyone. I didn't particularly love the pick either.Of course I didn't hate it as much as Dez Briscoe. And not because Briscoe couldn't play. I just knew he'd be squeezed out. He's a starter for Tampa Bay now I believe.

ShulaSteakhouse
Potential starter this late at a position of dire need = good pickOf course, not sure how much any of this will matter with the state of the LB corps here.
wpeldios
Big fan of this guy and I like that the bengals are going after bigger safeties. He needs a little development but these are the types of guys that will be needed to cover the big tight ends.
