UK Bengal
Oh I'm not making excuses and tbh I didnt know he was with a baby at 2:30 am In a bar rather silly that. But I'm all for facts if he's punched the guy for no reason and it's proven then he deserves what he gets and he's let everyone associated with the bengals down.I just don't think you can condem someone without all the facts
wpeldios
I dont care if hes found guilty or not. I am so sick of this crap. It is not hard to avoid getting charged pressed on you. Im older than rey and it has never happened to me. If this was his first incident ok, let it play out. But its not and i highly doubt it will be his last. For his sake I hope he turns it around and becomes a pro bowler. But I hope he does it somewhere else because character concerns have held this team back long enough. bwillycuse
I love the way everyone instantly promotes someone as guilty because of their past. Get rid now he's a disgrace etc yet we don't know the full story and don't know what really happened ever thought he was drinking juice and this owner was a bonehead and got funny with someone that was with ray and he lost his cool. Yeah he shdnt have hit the guy also this guy and witness could be bulls**tting and trying to get money.I used to try and talk all these incidents away. Odell, Benson, Henry, Pac Man, Rey, Simpson, Henry, Henry, Benson, Odell, Shirley, Rey, Joseph, Hall etc - Im sure I am missing 10-15 more obvious offenders. I was always pissed at the Kentucky police being too trigger happy. Bar managers getting in players faces daring them to defend themselves. DUI. Punching neighbors and 'roommates' teeth out. I always defended the Bengal. Now, I am just sick of it. Quit putting yourself in the situations to fail. On an off the field. It easier to not defend Rey. He hasn't produced much on the field. I would probably react differently if it was Green or Dalton. But for some reason. I don't see either of them getting in to trouble any time soon.Bottom line. Alcoholics cant control themselves. Hence alcoholism is a big issue. If he doesn't see it as serious, then the team should cut him yesterday. If he lied and doesn't have a drinking problem to get out of league punishment, he should be cut yesterday.

jjakq27
Well rey lewis stabbed someone and is consided best or one best Mlbs of all time...so maybe with this mauluga becomes top in 2012Maybe so but RL was already a household name which probably helped with his defense. Our Rey on the other hand has been just OK so far. And he will probably get a suspension from the league which means someone else will have to fill in while he's out. So he won't be getting any better or helping the team by sitting out. The whole thing pisses me off. Dude needs to get straight.

bwillycuse
/>http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20120217/NEWS/302170123He says he's not guilty. Still shouldn't be in a bar that late.Everyone says they are innocent, yet the charges are never dropped, its always probation and community service. 'Hey kids, get rich, do what you want, make stupid decisions and still keep your job. I did it and so should you.'Nevertheless, the league can and will still suspend him due to the incident. Innocent or not. I hope Benson and Pac-Man are picking up trash on the highway for their community service sentences. Repeat offenders need to be squeaky clean. Arrested, mugshots, handcuffs don't really happen to many people that are innocent. It happens, but I am inclined to think Rey punched this guy while drunk at 2:30 am. HoosierCat
The case is going to mediation (translation: Rey will pay the guy to make this go away)./>http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20120308/NEWS010702/120308004
ArmyBengal
The Bengals don't really have any other viable options than to hope this goes away and Rey can figure out a way to pull his head out of his ass. I'm ok with that, but something tells me this isn't the last time Rey ends up in this situation. Hopefully when that time comes, the team will be in a better position to move on. ShulaSteakhouse
Stinks of this is what the guy planned all the long money out of a well known personThat's what happens when you are a pro athlete and public figure, and are acting like a dumb a$$ at 2:30am drunk in public.Get rid of this guy, someone else will pick him up. Maybe he'll learn how to be a decent father and grow up some day. He panned out just as the scouts figured he would, and it's why he dropped in the draft, and has been surpassed by his position teammates at USC easily in the NFL.If the Bengals' are ever serious about winning, they'll start looking replace guys like this, instead of just holding down the status quo. HoosierCat
Mediation works its magic.Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga settled his criminal assault case in mediation, resulting in it being dismissed from court today.Maualuga and the Downtown bartender he was accused of assaulting agreed earlier to send the case to mediation. They told Hamilton County Municipal Court Judge Heather Russell today they’d settled the case. The judge dismissed it, meaning legally the case never happened.Maualuga’s bigger problem may be the NFL and potential discipline for this incident. Maualuga has a previous DUI in Covington and has been through a alcohol rehabilitation program after his DUI arrest.
