2012 Douchebag Predictions Thread

And, of course, the uber-douchebag comes through in the clutch.

Nice to know the bulletin board in the locker room will be filling up in time for OTAs.

The Philadelphia Eagles, Arizona Cardinals, San Diego Chargers and Miami Dolphins (who finished the season 6-10).

Give me a fkn break, Peter. The only team that "scares" me outta that list is San Diego. And didn't we beat Arizona?

He jumps on and off of the Bengals bandwagon too much. It's like he gives them some minimal praise then bails at the slightest downturn.

Nothing new though. I hope it gives the guys something to chew on this offseason.

Peter King is an a**h***. I believe he used to cover the Bengals as a beat writer but was fired--he has had a vendetta against them ever since.

The next time he mentions the Bengals it will be in his article titled "Playoff teams that will finish below .500 in 2012".

There's a simple logic for the Florio's and King's out there. The Bengals are hard to predict at times. When teams such as them suprise during the season it reveals the writer's obvious holes in their ability to analyze teams accurately. King and Florio don't add a damn thing to what you can't already see with your own eyes. They regurgitate obvious facts, stats, and trends. (Oh, and how many times are we going to see the preseason PHI vs. SD superbowl prediction) When teams like the Bengals perform unexpectedly, it makes them insecure about their talents. Which they are obviously lacking.

Dunno, we have a long history of suckage, and the last 4 years we've alternated between good and bad

By that schedule and that history, we're on schedule to be bad in 2012

I;m not trying to be contrary here, just saying, those predicting we will be bad have some history to point to - recent history, even

Hey, did you k now that the Bengals FO has doubts about Andy Dalton?

Yep, it looks like we're going to have to listen to the arm strength sh*t for another year... :frustrated:

Nothing new here, but sounds like media is running out of things to talk about now! I really doubt the bengals have doubts about him, but it's no secret that he needs to work on the long ball. Guess time will tell if he improves on it

He can improve his long ball a little bit, but most of that ability is natural. What I am really glad about is the Bengals seemingly bringing in the RIGHT players to throw to. Sanu, Charles, to go with Shipley and Gresham. We already know he can link up with AJ, add in another fast WR (Jones, etc) and this offense will be perfect for him. Hopefully, BJGE can catch out of the backfield a bit.

That's really just a bunch of sh*t.

While he might not be the strongest armed QB in the league, there have been plenty of them that haven't done sh*t.

Right off the top of my head, both Kyle Boller and Derek Anderson come to mind. Some success, but not long term.

Give me the guy with a LONG history of winning, intelligence, and leadership the likes haven't been seen here in quite some time. Not only that, but when was the last time anyone has seen a rookie QB along with a rookie WR, rookie OC, with no OTA's or camp take a team to the playoffs ??

I'm not going to be silly and make comparisons to any of the greats out there, but to make comments like this article has is just stupid and lazy. Dalton may not be a hall of famer some day, but I would put some money on the fact he will do very well here in Cincinnati.

The organzation is also doing the right thing by giving him all the weapons they can and building the defense.

Thing is, aren't all teams suppose to do that regardless of the abilities of the QB ??

It all just seems stupid with the argument they are making...

That d-bag writer points out that we benefitted from an easy schedule. Did he look at next year's schedule? Not exactly murderer's row.

No AFC North team has an easy schedule. Ask any other team if they'd like to play the likes of Pitt/Balt twice a yr with a 53 man roster. It's by far the most physical division in football

Yeah I'm sure Cosell was just chatting with a few Bengals execs, and without hesitation they said "Yanno Greg, that Dalton kid. Good season last year, but I just don't know about his arm strength. Uh, please don't tell the press, kay?"

Gruden: say what?

“I don’t know where that came from and why he (Cosell) said it. If there were reservations about Andy Dalton there would be a lot more quarterbacks here right now. We know and he knows he has to get better and he is chomping at the bit to get going. I have no reservations about his arm strength. I think he can do it all. He might not run 4.3 in the 40 or be 6-6 but to play the position and what we need to do he can do everything we want.

“If you can throw it 62-63 yards that is pretty strong. He does have a long way to go to get better. We’re not putting his jersey or shoes in Canton right now but we have every reason to believe he will continue to improve.”

I get so tired of that line. The entire division has the same schedule with the exception of two games. If we benefited then so did the Steelers and Ravens. Time to move on.
