Kazkal
Has only played 9 out of the past 36,But still don't think it would hurt for depth and wouldn't change the fact we should draft a safety high.
cincyhokie
He would come here only if he couldn't find other takers. Would be good for depth, though.I'm oscillating between being entertained and down right pissed at this offseason. This organization has pretty much destroyed whatever credibility they had for getting FA's in here.
derekshank
Hmm. Roy Williams gets a season ending injury, Ndukwe gets a season ending injury and Crocker gets a season ending injury.Welcome home Sanders. You'll fit right in.
kingwilly
I am all for finding a new crop of safeties who won't get laid up with injuries.Add Gibril Wilson to the list of injured safeties....How about we find some guys who can stay on the field? BengalszoneBilly
At this point I feel finding a QB is far more important than anything else, yet nothing is being done.

volcom69
I would rather take that saftey who got cut by the Rams, he is young and pretty good. Oh and he has played in most of his games so not injury prone.
NJ29
Yup, I'd love O.J. Atogwe. Great safety, and we can sign him now.
volcom69
Yup, I'd love O.J. Atogwe. Great safety, and we can sign him now.Yep they should really think about doing that. If they would do that they can really think about not drafting a saftey so high, and worry about the o-line they should rebuild. I would play OJ and Nelson back there or Crocker which ever one looks better.

derekshank
I would play OJ and Nelson back there or Crocker which ever one looks better.Atogwe is a FS, so he would replace Crocker or Nelson on the field... not play along side them. What the Bengals really need is a SS. They haven't had a good one in the Marvin era.

However, a lot of the footwork is very different. As far as available safeties in the draft, the best one might be Rahim Moore from UCLA. Moore can hit and he makes a lot of plays, but I'm not sold on his instincts. Ahmad Black is very instinctual and makes a lot of big plays and big hits, but the biggest question about him is his size (only 5'9" 190) and a lotta people think that's exactly what we don't need. DeAndre McDaniel has the size and playmaking ability but isn't very fast and has some character concerns.Sanders really is exactly the type of presence that could help us, but unfortunately it just isn't likely that he'd be able to stay healthy here, and we all know we won't pick him up anyway. Trevor
I like reggie nelson a LOT,.. And he can play both positions,.. I kinda like him more at strong really,.. I'd love to have bob sanders tho,.. but hes made of pure muscle and gets hurt from all the blows he takes,.. but i think he still wants to play badly and will do all it takes to stay healthy,. weather its sparingly playing or special teams,.. He's a gamechanger... We should get him

ArmyBengal
Bob Sanders is a badass. If by badass you mean a player that gets hurt every year and can't net you a quarter of the games played in 3 seasons.
jjakq27
I'd rather take my chances with Patrick Peterson in the draft.

However, a lot of the footwork is very different. How about Quincy Carter? Mike Mayoch claimed teams will be closely watching to see how fast Carter runs at the combine, and if his speed isn't adequate they'll shift him to SS. He went on to say that Carter is so well respected that the position shift wouldn't cause Carter to slide in the draft much, largely because his skills as a tackler and run supporter are so well established. Last, several weeks prior Mayoch was talking about the first night of meetings held at the Senior Bowl and he noted how quickly Carter had established himself as the unquestioned leader of Marvin Lewis's defense. Lewis was said to be very impressed.
HoosierCat
How about Quincy Carter? Why, I think he would make a perfect replacement for Palmer...would fit right in. (Quentin could be a nice addition but top of the 2nd might be too high and he might not be there at the top of the third...)
ArmyBengal
Carter is exactly who I was pimping in my mock for the 2nd round. Can handle both positions, is smart, and an establised leader that would improve a huge hole on our defense.I don't view him as being taken to high in the 2nd though, as I am of the belief that Best Player Available might not exactly work out for what ails us. I must admit your reply made absolutely no sense to me until I realized to my horror that I had spelled Carter's first name incorrectly. Shamed and embarrassed I briefly wondered to myself how could I go on now knowing how badly I had let the internet down. (Quentin could be a nice addition but top of the 2nd might be too high and he might not be there at the top of the third...) Happily for me I quickly realized you too had spelled Quinton Carter's first name wrong.
