Walrus Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 #bengals DE Antwan Odom officially suspended for four games— Joe Reedy (@joereedy) October 15, 2010 Not that he has been much of an asset this season. Perhaps the opportunity we needed for one of the younger guys to step up. Quote

kingwilly Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Contaminated supplement defense used in the appeal. If it was a clear cut anabolic substance, he probably would not have appealed. So, he sits till late Nov. It does mean that Dunlap could be implemented quickly. Also could mean we see a guy like Adalius get signed. Quote
redsbengalsbucks Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Why is it the Williams wall for the Vikings has yet to be suspended for the same thing two years ago? They seem to keep appealing and have as yet had to stop playing. Quote
walzav29 Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Will he be able to serve it immediately? He was going to miss 3 games anyway. The timing might work out. Quote
whizzo Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 not happy about this, and yet happy about this, because it means more snaps for MJ, geno atkins, and carlos dunlap. Quote
Stripes Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Good.If the youngsters tear it up while Odom's out, who else thinks the coaches would still stick Odom right back in the starting slot upon his return? Quote
HairOnFire Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Will he be able to serve it immediately? He was going to miss 3 games anyway. The timing might work out. I'm suddenly reminded of the scene in Doc Hollywood where everyone compliments our hero while he walks his fine looking pig. Quote
kenyon1977 Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Geez, why did he appeal anyways? It would explain his weight loss, and not just one pill while driving, but using it during the offseason. Hopefully now he puts some mass back on so he can get a sack? or out of someone's way. Quote
BengalByTheBay Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Well, his agent's statement may explain why he's been playing about as well as his wife would. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Seriously, does anyone really care ?? It's not like we had ANY pass rush whatsoever.Maybe we some of the pass rush we saw from others in the preseason... Quote
walzav29 Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 I don't care. Once he was off the juice he was no good anyway. Quote
HairOnFire Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Well, his agent's statement may explain why he's been playing about as well as his wife would. Perfect. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 Well, his agent's statement may explain why he's been playing about as well as his wife would. That reason, while true or not, is a little odd any way you look at it.I don't care. Once he was off the juice he was no good anyway. The Lattimore effect ?? Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 not happy about this, and yet happy about this, because it means more snaps for MJ, geno atkins, and carlos dunlap.Depressingly, Hobson's piece on Odom's suspension studiously avoids even mentioning Dunlap, instead concentrating on free agency or singing someone off another team's practice squad. During the preseason i thought he looked pretty good, and was pretty fast. He is a second round pick, he should be out there playing if not starting, once again i wonder why the coaches here cant get a talent like that on the field. Let him play, give him the reps to get better, heck its not like Geathers is looking any better. I say put Fanene and MJ on the field, with Dunlap rotating.I wouldnt mind bringing in Thomas as a situational pass rusher if he is still fast, and wanting to play. They said he would play specail teams, and right now the coverage is not that great. Any little bit helps Quote

The scuttlebutt is that the Bengals want Dunlap to bulk up and learn the DT spot so they can turn him into yet another Fanene/Geathers/Rucker-type hybrid who can play inside and outside. I don't know if that's true but it would be consistent with this team's longstanding habits. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Yeah, because God knows the Bengals don't need a DE capable of rushing the QB and providing pressure.Thank God they aren't trying to do that, because THAT would be such a waste.F*CK !!! Quote

Either he gets rejuiced, or he fades into oblivion.Dammit! Get him an HGH supplier....Apparently they don't really have a test for that. Get him started on the stuff today, so he can bust out another 8 sacks in like 5 games when he comes back. Quote

I don't know if that's true but it would be consistent with this team's longstanding habits....and this brings me to one of the things I hate the most about failed draft picks. The Bengals need to draft guys that fit into the scheme they want, or not draft them at all. Drafting guys because of their athletic ability, then trying to remold their bodies so that they fit into the positions they want them, just doesn't work. Never has, never will. Quote
