volcom69
Antwan Odom is a peice. You can't rely on him. Never had liked him, even last year.He got eatin alive by average tackles and guards yesterday. Give Dunlap a shotYea i agree Odom is not right, he was getting no push, and was missing tackles. I would love to see the youngs guys get time to play. Dunlap didnt even suit up which sucks, so why not give him a chance. Bashing Odom seems like a popular thing to do these days, but I'll show restraint. Obviously he isn't physically sound and the reasons for that are so well documented they don't need to be repeated. That said, both Odom and Geathers have been fighting health issues and as a result they were not only completely ineffective, but vastly inferior to younger less experienced players who are available....including high draft picks like Dunlap and MJ. As for the latter, I expected to see more of him than I did, and I expected to see him used in more creative ways. Regardless, Odom sucks right now and shouldn't be starting or playing major snaps. He simply can't get within a sniff of the QB and his bullrush is easily negated. He's not only giving the Bengals NOTHING right now....he's probably incapable of doing more, yet his coaches made the decision that he should play over a presumably healthy 2nd round draft pick who had an outstanding preseason. Bottom Line: My damning finger of blame is pointed at Zimmer and Lewis, not Odom.Very well put, and you think they would see that from the game film. Preseason he didnt look right, and on Sunday he looked worse, and couldnt tackle. I hope this week they learn there lesson and give Dunlap a shot at playing. Start Rucker and Fanene, i think they will give them better push. Please use MJ like he should be used, let him rush the passer. Let him fly around to the ball, stand him, put him in a DE stance, move him around. Zimmer has to come up with better ideas.

I didn't notice him much because well there was nothing worth noticing. I am so sick of Marvin using a natural DE and moving him to LB in a 4-3(see David Pollack). Let MJ do his thing, let him put his hand on the ground. It is and was an awful idea to begin with. I wanna see Dunlap get a shot, but he could be our one draft pick this year to have potential(Chase Coffman)but the coaches fail to see it.One more thing, let's get rid of Robert Geathers. That peice of s**t has 8.5 sacks in THREE seasons. I am sorry, he is awful and not worth a damn penny. Cut our losses and let Dunlap play. volcom69
Fanene had a hamstring issue?Speaking of Geathers he is just as bad as Odom. At his best he is good at stoping the run, but sucks as a pass rusher. I swear we have the worst starting DE, they get no push and have no speed. Its time to put Dunlap in there and see what he can do. Whats the worst thats going to happen they dont get any better then Sunday? I cant believe they didnt even dress him, and thats what makes me mad. We saw in the preseason that Dunlap has the speed and push, now its time to see if he can shine during gameday. When will Zim and Marvin realize that these DE are just not good enough, sometimes its time to change.

BengalPimp
Odom is still not 100% obviously, but you can't just sit him. I would still rather start him over Geathers, and maybe play Dunlap on the other side. I believe Odom will return to form, it just might take him another game or two. I'm not giving up on him just yet. Just be a little patient. Yes, Dunlap played "fairly well" in the preseason, but that was against backup O-Lineman. You can't just throw a rookie out there and expect great results. I'm pretty sure he would over run a ton of plays, and make other rookie mistakes as well. TJJackson
Never had liked him, even last year.Yeah, what was there to like about 9 sacks in three games - I mean, that sucks, right? What a worthless bum.

Rucker and Fanene are better then Geathers and Odom, and would rather see them in there. Zim and Marvin need to shake something up, because whatever they were doing is not working. You know why not play Pat Sims i would like to see what he brings, once again i know it was preseason but he was looking good in some games. Typically, I value playing experience over almost everything else....including pure talent. But I do make exceptions and when I do it usually involves health. In this case I'll acknowledge the greater risk of mistake and take the healthy young player who is very capable of making plays of his own over the experienced veteran who is currently unable to do anything. COB
In his statement, Antwan said he loves us all, and really needs our support now. So if any of you have a bunch of steroids, deliver them to his house today. I can't bear to watch another quarterback stand around in the pocket for 6 seconds while deciding which open receiver to throw to.
