According to Hobs they have offered Brisco a place on the PS but it's "unclear" whether he was claimed (whatever that means) and if he wasn't claimed briscoe's agent said they would evaluate their options tonight.

I don't care what happens with Briscoe. He looks like he has potential, but young Bengals receivers always do (aside from Simpson the two years prior to this one). They'll surely draft another one or six next year and it won't matter.

re-watched the Indy/bengals game this AM, and he looks like he has all the tools. It is just a numbers game and he is the least experienced guy on the roster at that position.

That he did not immediately go to the PS tells me maybe he thinks he can get snatched here in the next 10 days. Maybe so. Plenty of teams are struggling at WR - STL, JAX, Denver, Seattle, Oakland... quite a few.

Why wouldn't Briscoe sign to the PS? I thought he could get picked up off our PS by another team as long as the team that claims him puts him on their 53-man roster? Is that not correct?

That is correct as long as that team puts him on the 53 man roster, he wasnt offered that option, but he could go to someone elses PS and I think that is what he is weighing, the receiver position here is pretty locked in.

I guess he will have more opportunity to get on the 53 man roster......but with TO on 1 year deal and others on the roster he could possibly beat out next year- wouldn't you want to try and make it with a team that has a QB.

Oh fug Briscoe that farggin icehole! There are some players out there I would like to see the Bengals give a look at...and Micheal Clayton is one of them. There are a few LB's that got cut I would like to see as well. How about Damoine Lewis or whatever his name is to come in and be some DL help? Honestly there is some quality out there. Tye Hill anyone? James Hardy has better size and talent than Briscoe did. Max Jean-Giles got cut by Philly. I like Hartwig as a veteran back up too...I hope to see some more moves

I'm fairly sure that there will be more 6th round draft pick WR's other than Briscoe to look at next year. Not the end all be all.

Well, such is life and was what I was expecting to see happen with Briscoe. I will say this though, if him and Mike Williams the other rookie from Syracuse can stay out of trouble, that could be an exciting young WR combo they put on the field with a young upcoming QB. Good luck to him.

It makes sense. I would do the same. The money is good. Especially with a possible work stoppage next year and the opportunity to play. Hope it works out for him.

They have room for one more - my call would be a center, ideally someone who was a four year starter in college at that spot, has smarts, and who can also play some G.

I am glad they are continuing to develop Coffman, as Reggie Kelly isn't getting any younger or sturdier and Coats might start dropping seemingly every pass again.

Me too. I still have high hopes for him, but it is clear he is still a project. He's got a high ceiling in my opinion, but is simply not NFL ready yet.

This is basically his rookie year because of the injury. Hopefully getting a year of real NFL practice will give him the blocking experience he needs to be able to contribute.

Maybe it's just a dream, but the idea of Gresham and Coffman in 2 TE sets makes me smile. Especially if Gresham becomes a complete TE in the run blocking department.
