savagehenry54
http://www.growlzone.com/component/content/article/42-stories/309-carson-haters-cant-handle-the-truthThe fans are beginning to sound like the Cleveland Indian fans in major league...."Too High" is the going critique of Palmer's passes. Really? He's completing 67% of his passs thus far in a pre-season where the Bengals are undertaking the business of incorporating several new faces into the offense. The Broncos and Eagles were among the better defenses in the league in 09 and Palmer went 27 of 38 for 250+ yards in roughly three quarters of play against them in successive games. Still, from satellite radio to Bengal fans themselves the career 63% completion percentage is overlooked and questions about his accuracy persist.Full article in link. volcom69
Good article, i dont think Palmer will cost them this season or any season for that matter. One thing that will hurt this team if they soon dont fix it is the penalties. They always find a way to hurt themselves, but i dont think Palmer will cost them a season. BengalszoneBilly
How anyone could hate a class act like Carson Palmer is beyond me.
COB
Is there some sort of legion of Carson haters out there? I don't hear that much criticism of him, just a little. Generally he's well respected. Also, I take it from your avatar that you are part of Mifflin High School's rich football tradition. Go Punchers! redsbengalsbucks
I'm far from a Carson hater, but his high throws seem to be getting just a little worse over the past two seasons. He might still make alot of completions, but he makes the WR's go up to get the ball instead of catch them in stride. I hope he is working on his release point to stop this obvious trend. Stripes
Yes, some people have expressed concern over Carson's accuracy. Still, what does "they can't handle the truth" even mean? Very silly.
combatbengal
I'm not a Carson hater. I just pointed out that there won't be any excuses for failure this season. The team brought in a ton of talent to surround him; TO, Gresham, Shipley, Kelly is back, Benson is healthy, Chad is happy, etc. He just needs to find a way to avoid all of those three and outs and penalties that stall our drives. We know that they won’t score on every series, but they have to let the defense rest a bit! Bengal fans are not like buckeye fans. We don’t expect our team to blow out every team week after week. Don’t get me wrong, I love the buckeyes but those fans want a blow out every week.My ultimate concern though is if he goes down. Our back-ups aren’t there. They looked better in this last game but still aren’t there.

Still, what does "they can't handle the truth" even mean? Very silly.Just that I'm being dramatic pretty much. There are a lot of folks who bang on Palmer in spite of numbers that prove the opposite is true....It's all in the article.Example....Elway rarely completed more than 57 percent of his passes and yet someone who submitted that he was not accurate would be laughed at...Carson has a career 63 percent completion percentage and talking heads on the radio and Bengals fans in the forums talk about Palmer being "inaccurate". It's ridiculous.

Passepartout
It ain't Carson, as the whole team. Is involved as football is the #1 team sport. You have to work together. Despite the QB being the man.

I'm class of 93 myself. No I didn't go to Mifflin. I just like city league sports, those kids give it all they've got with not much in the way of resources or support. Mifflin just hired a former head coach at Brookhaven who won 10 city league titles there, so Mifflin should be coming on pretty strong in a couple years. F.Cleveland
Carson seems to throw high when he is trying to force throws in, either due to a WR not getting open or him feeling heat from the D-line. Last year, this was the case a lot more than normal because our WR's got no seperation and our line was inconsistent. We are now stacked with WR's, TE's and RB's that can get seperation and that in turn should help the O-line with less players in the box to defend. I agree if he is healthy and doesn't perform this year, there are no excuses. BUT....anyone who thinks Carson isn't a top tier QB will soon be in the minority. I predict career numbers this year for him and for Ced.
