redsbengalsbucks
What dont you people get about it being during his non football time, you know that time you all spend not at work.I'm no big fan of Chad, but let the man do want he wants to do during his time off. ArmyBengal
For the record, my "Good God" statement goes to the fact that he continually has something else going on.For the record again, I can't being myself to care about that other crap I don't watch or care about anyway, as long as he produces. If something ANY player does away from the field impacts what happens ON the field, then it's a problem.I'll wait for the season to start before I worry about it and probably won't then either... volcom69
Chad can do what he wants in the offseason i dont care, but during the season he knows he shouldnt tweet during games or do the TD celebrations or wear certain uniform stuff, but he does it anyways. Its like Chad thinks he runs the NFL. When the season is over fine do what you want, but dont film some stupid wives show during the season. There's nothing we can do about it...and if the Bengals were going to do something about it, they would have traded him a couple of years ago when all the trade hype existed.I wish he didn't do some of the dumb sh*t he does, but it's obvious that the Bengals aren't as bothered as some of the fans are. Until then, perhaps asking the douchenozzle to focus on his football team would be the best thing to do? At a minimum, it would be the most professional thing to do. Some might counter with the claim that Chad is an "entertainer". For those, I would ask how entertaining it is to see the guy be completely SHUT down in last years playoff game? I didn't find it that entertaining, myself. Chad doing anything but his job, during a game week or otherwise, is a really poor idea. It shows the overall disregard for the objective that renews each season, winning the SB.Now, if Chad is putting up 6-9 catches each week for 120+yrds and they lock up the division by week 10, then I will be the first to support his endeavors, or at least stop criticizing him. I just dont see why fans think a player isnt allowed to do legal activities on his off time. It doesnt matter whether it is during the season or not. I dont watch his shows or even like some of the activities that he does during his down time, but as long as it doesnt involve the police investigating him, I'm OK with it. HairOnFire
I just dont see why fans think a player isnt allowed to do legal activities on his off time. Nobody has even hinted about Chad not being allowed to do the type of crap he does. It's simply a question of priorities and production. And to that end, if he produces at a very high level nobody will question his priorities. Again, I find it funny how this issue has morphed from one where allowances were made for Chad's offseason activities to one where allowances are now being made in regards to his activities during the season. And yeah, if we were so inclined, Chad's tweeting during games now provides his apologists with ample opportunity to make allowances for his unprofessional behavior during games. TJJackson
I don't know if the issue of whether something is legal or not even really comes into itIf a hypothetical player was for example an admitted alcoholic, even if it remains perfectly legal for him to drink, shouldn't he curtail that activity? If he doesn't, would that not make one question his priorities and judgement? It really doesn't matter to me if Chad's twitters, ManWhore role, Dancing with (Questionable) Stars are legal or not - in my opinion, a highly compensated professional should strive to deliver the best performance he can. These other activities are distractions from what he should be doing, and in some cases, distractions for the team as a whole. If he finishes the season with - let's say - 80 catches for 1300 yards and 10 TDS, I will wonder if 90/1400/12 might have been possible had he spent more time on football and less on other activities. And if we dont win the Superbowl, those concerns will be magnified....ie maybe we win the Superbowl if he has that extra production, more reps, better timing with Carson, etc etc; and less dancing and man-whoring.Just because it's legal for Chad to do x doesn't mean it's OK (in my book, at least) to do x. He lacks dedication to the team and to his craft, and for that, I look forward to his departure.

Stripes
Chad has every right to engage in whatever nonsense fits his fancies when he isn't engaged in Bengals-related operations.Unfortunately, his other priorities take away from his preparation every single year and it shows with his startling consistency in having no idea where Carson wants him to be. I won't blame Dancing With the Stars for Chad's problem with urine colored laundry, but there's no denying that more time spent on the field with his team mates would improve his football chemistry with the team.He doesn't have to do that. He doesn't have to go above and beyond.I simply hope he understands that he'll never be as great as he once aspired to be (but surely no longer) if he maintains that attitude. Ok, suppose you trip and hit your head. Brain swelling occurrs. You go to the hospital and two brain surgeons appear. One spends considerable time off the job going to neurosurgeon conferences, adopting all the newest techniques, praciticing his surgical methods, writing papers for professional journals, and just generally staying heavily involved in his profession. The other surgeon bolts from the hospital at 4:30 every day, and spends all his spare time pursuing his avocation, whatever that may be. Lets just say it's stamp collecting. Both have 20 years' experience. Which surgeon will you select to start hacking away at your skull?I know being an NFL receiver isn't brain surgery. Honestly, I think it's harder. A lot more people can become proficient at neurosurgery than can play receiver at a high level in the NFL. Different skill sets, true, but the receiver job is harder. Doesn't having to make sh*t up point out how weak your argument is?Let's stick to the subject, which is the fact that Chad is going to spend some of his free time during the season shooting some scenes for his girlfriend's TV show.If you're going to bitch about this, I expect to hear you bitch about any time from September to February Carson spends with his wife and kids, too.
