HairOnFire
11-9The Bengals win the AFC North at 7-9 and then win it all. That works for me. However, I'm guessing it will take at least a 9-7 or 10-6 record to win the North this season. I'll further guess that winning the division is not only the Bengals most direct path to the playoffs, but also the easiest...as the tough schedule may result in several inferior teams having superior won/loss records, thereby locking up the Wildcard berths. GoBengals!
9-7.. I'd like to see the team finish strong at the end of the regiular season (for once). Considering the Bengals track record... I would consider this season a success if the team makes the playoffs and wins at least one playoff game. ArmyBengal
**BUMP**Ok, the preseason is over, players have been cut, signed, or traded, and the practice squad is in place. The first game is in a week (Thank God), so go out on a limb and call it for the season.I'll stick with my original 11-5 for the season with us winning the AFCN as repeat champs. If that happens, this team should be considered a strong Super Bowl contender.I'm dead serious and I'm totally pumped !!! whizzo
10 or 11 wins, hot contest for the AFCN crown with the Ravens.
membengal
9-7, with my usual plus or minus one range. So, 8-10 wins.Last year I guessed 7-9, so let's hope I miss three short again...
redsbengalsbucks
Hopefully enough wins to get to the playoffs. I'd say somewhere between 9-11 wins.
JoeMama
11-5. AFCN Champs.11-5 or 10-6 and AFCN champs sounds about right. The schedule looks hard, but the Bengals seem to have a knack for edging out good teams for wins. I think the main difference this season is the Bengals definitely win a playoff game for once.I can't envision a team with Ocho and T.O. ass to ass not getting deep into the playoffs. HairOnFire
I'm seeing a better team than last year, but the same 10-6 record.....resulting in another AFCN championship.
TJJackson
8-10 wins if Carson stays healthyminus 1 win for every 3 games Carson doesn't startto be clear, I pray he remains healthy all year and I do indeed hope the club does better than that against it's first place schedule
volcom69
Yea i agree 8-10 wins. I think it all depends on how well they play as a team. They are very talented but that dosnt always mean great things, they have to learn to play like a team again like last year. They need to learn to reley on one another, and to talk on the field. Can they handle success? The end of last year the team kind of fell apart against the "good teams", and thats what bothers me, this whole schedule is filled with great teams. If they can beat the Pats coming out of the gates, then i think they can be who they want to be, but if they look bad then im not sure how great they will be. bwillycuse
I would be ecstatic with 10 wins.I think we can do better than that, but I always think we can do better. The first two games are HUGE.2-0 - I see over 10 wins.1-1 = 10-6 9-70-2 - Well, This start will show what this team is made of. Actually starting out 0-2 then coming back from that and making a push to the playoffs would say a ton about TO, Ocho, and the leaders on this team. I would be extremely happy for this scenario quite frankly.Less than 5 days....

stilldiesel
Thus far they're looking like a 7-9 team.NE is tough at home so don't feel too bad about the loss. I am a Steeler fan and I'm glad we will have Ben back when we play you guys. (hopefully Troy will stay healthy and we will have him unlike last year) Dixon really sucks and hopefully Leftwich will be back next week. ArmyBengal
Here's the thing. There wasn't anyone here thinking the Bengals were going to run away with the division this season. The Bengals, Ravens, and Steelers all have a very good chance to take the AFCN this season. Last time I checked, none of us went up against each other in week one, so lets look at this again next week.I bet if the Bengals win next week, are 1-1, and 1-0 in the division, people will feel quite a bit better. If they go 0-2 and 0-1 in the division to start the season, this thread will explode into statements that we are a 2-14 team. Stripes
I said 10 or 11 wins expecting a loss in New England. I hate the pass rush, but not enough to change my mind just yet.
cincyhokie
I'm not as concerned as much with the loss as with the way they played. If the Bengals are to ever have a chance at going on a deep playoff run, this is the season. Well executing and prepared teams don't play like that. I don't see how anyone can watch that game and see the way they played and just cast it off as another loss. We got our ass kicked up and down the field yesterday. I hope we can bounce back this week like we did last year against Green Bay. I think we can definately beat Baltimore. We'll see. TJJackson
8-10 wins if Carson stays healthyminus 1 win for every 3 games Carson doesn't startto be clear, I pray he remains healthy all year and I do indeed hope the club does better than that against it's first place scheduleYeah, yeah, they can still win all remaining games and be 12-4. or win all but two and be 10-6That said, I just don't think either scenario is remotely realisticI think this is a 5 win team, 6 wins at best, as of now. even 4-12 would not be much of a surprise.I did like how they caught fire for a bit on both sides of the ball after the half, but it was too little, too late. Time to start featuring the folks who will shape our future - treat the remainder of this season as an extended training camp for next season - more Scott, Gresham, Shipley, Quan, Flesh Zeppelin, and maybe even Simpson; less Ochodroppo and Terrible. More Mauluaga, Dunlap, Atkins, Ghee, and MJ; less Tank, Dhani, JumpyJr, and Odom. Pick the heir apparent for Bobbie's spot and plug him in NOW. Get our two corners extended for the next 4-5 years. Draft plan should OL (preferably LT to ship Whitworth to his more natural LG spot, or to RT wher ehsi size and strength would also be a huge asset), S, split end, and pass rushers, not necessarily in that order. BengalszoneBilly
As always I shall wait until I see at least a couple pre-season game before venturing a guess.I never got a feel for this team, so I never guessed. Good thing. A lot of people are looking pretty bad here. I would have too had I sipped the juice.
