COB
Great news! I heard one of the guys on the Sunday night broadcast about 6 weeks ago say that he'd talked to Marvin, and Marvin had said they were hoping they'd get flexed into a Sunday night game. Good work Bengals.
Freqman
This is interesting as far as playoff implications go. If the Patriots win earlier in the day in Houston, then the Bengals are locked into the 4th seed. They'll essentially have nothing to play for at that point against a cornered Jets team. kingwilly
Now, if they have any sense they will start JT, Simpson, and any other 2nd/3rd teamer to prevent catastrophic injury, as we had today with Rey, and be full gas for the wildcard game. They like to all the games over on Sunday since there are playoff games the following Saturday. Not sure if this is a good thing or not. But let's take care of business next week. cincyhokie
This is great! We get a chance to watch the AFC games, and their playoff implications during the day, and then a prime time game for the Bengals at night. Good stuff. JoePong
We could get revenge on the broncos for that fluke play in week 1 by losing to the Jets. The broncos would be screwed then. That would knock them out of the playoffs.
firemarvinNOW
Pats win, best for cincy to lose. We would I believe get the Jets here the next week. They are our easiest game.
Stripes
I'd like the Jets as a wild card opponent. I'm not sure I want the Bengals to rest the starters though, at least not for the majority of the game. Too many units are still having problems, like the receivers and punt team, and one additional game before playoff time could help get that fixed. semiotter
And there's one thing I want to say "How bout them Cowboys" I had to say that Jimmy Johnson famous speech is my all time fav sound clip. Why I put that on here I don't know? LoL

membengal
f**k this Sunday night s**t for Week 17. Hate this. Hate. it. That puts them back in Cincy by what, 3:00 am or so, and in their beds by 4:00 am Monday morning? Awful.Going into a playoff week, they have to play the latest game possible on the road? That blows. Big time. That simply adds to my thought last night, that they need to sit everyone of consequence. This game is essentially meaningless. And watch the NFL f**k them with the early Saturday game on top of it to add to the short week. Just watch.Sit Carson. Sit Ced. Sit anyone remotely banged up. Treat this like a bye week and get ready for the playoffs.

How about when they needed to sell out tickets to games that meant something? f**k this.
Ickey44
Um, this wasn't the NFL's decision. It was NBC's.
gregstephens
I don't get this decision. Sure the Jets are still in it, and are playing for a berth, and are a New York/super-market team, but they aren't the popular NY team. Isn't there a better game to put on here since the Bengals are likely to mail it in? Like yesterday--why didn't they flex in the Ravens/Steelers game? Talk about playoff implications, rivalry, etc. Yeah Dallas and Washington are a rivarly game, but it was horrid because of the 'Skins and Washington had nothing on the line.I'm good with the Bengals getting a prime time game, but given the possibility of seeing the second stringers work, I think it'll be more like a pre-season MNF game to me.I just don't understand how these decisions are made. NYBengalfan
How we go at it should not just depend on if NE beats Houston. I say we should go for the win even if it just effects our opponent, we can pick and choose who we could play!(for example if the steelers can get in if we win, i say start JT o'sullivan..not sayin we cant whoop em again, but because we dont want them in it at all and we hate them.lol)
Ickey44
I'm sure the Steelers/Ravens game was protected by CBS. In Week 17, no games can be protected from flex. This will also be the last game ever played in that stadium as both the Jets and Giants both move into a new stadium next year.

The networks are so NFC East-centric it is pathetic. I would have loved to see that Ravens/Steelers game. The probably knocked the living crap out of each other, but let's all watch the Redskins trip over their shoelaces. Hey, there's another shot of Daniel Snyder in his box! Oh, the intrigue!
