Is anyone sure we can beat KC?

You've gone from posting Super Bowl threads to this?

Dude.

we will blast KC from start to finish although the speed of Charles (swing pass/screens), will prove to be a minor concern but not enough in the end. 33-17 Bengals.

I know. My master Superbowl plan was dependent on the #2 seed. I'm losing my cool. I need to be slapped to snap out of it. Like the scene from Airplane! I'll come to the stadium Sunday and you guys can line up.

Looks like you picked a bad week to give up sniffing glue.....

You're right. I'll go buy a bottle of Elmers and quit next Monday. Pat and Tim told me this was going to happen. They said We'll lose to Minn, and SD and then beat KC and the Jets. I just want to clinch.

If we win this week (which we should) we really won't have anything to play for in Week 17 and Marvin will probably rest the starters just like he did in '05. That will be a good game to get Simpson in and let him have some reps. Quan, too.

Frankly, I like their road better as the #4. Isn't that crazy?

I think they match up well with this edition of the Colts. I think the Bengals can take them should Cincy get past the Wild Card round.

So, win against KC and see how the Wild Cards sort out.

I've been saying for weeks that this was the week that would ultimately matter. If they are what we think they are, and if they are who they say they are, they will take care of business.

I don't see this particular team losing Sunday.

Just get in the playoffs at this point, and all they have to do is win one game against a bad team.

I don't see how they can't be motivated and not wanting to take frustrations out on someone after the last two weeks, on top of it being an automatic ticket to the post season.

I can only imagine the fall out amongst the players if they miss the playoffs and lose 4 in a row to end the season.

I'm never certain anyone can beat anyone, but the Browns just destroyed KC. I have no doubt that if their RB can break a team franchise record, Benson can gash the hell out of them. I am not gifted with psychic football foresight, but I absolutely feel confident. The Chargers have a very strong team and we had every chance to beat them. As long as we don't do something uniquely stupid like turn the ball over four times and commit 10 penalties, I have no reason to believe we'll lose.

Erm, I don't know how to break this to you. :) But yeah, minimize the TOs and we should be golden.

Ugh, God believe me I know. I was tearing my mustache out when the Bengals went from 1st and 10 to 1st and 25 in three consecutive plays. Watching Benson's fantastic run get called back on a holding made me want to slap JP until he turned right around and had that great catch. At least we aren't Ravens fans who believe the evil NFL masterminds are out to sink every season with a vast zebra conspiracy.

I'm not.

I am.

They have NO pass game. They have a terrible Oline. Their defense is atrocious.

Bengals win this game handily, if not beautifully.

I have no concern.

Of all things, just having LJ want to run amuk on his old team is enough.

Gotta agree with you on that assessment. While I think the Colts will ultimately end up in the Super Bowl, I would rather go there than head back to SD. If we can run the ball a little I think we would have a good chance.

I wouldn't think they would have a problem being focused this week. GOD I hope they kill KC.

My only concern is the disjointed week. Fly home from SD last night, go to Henry's services tomorrow and then the Christmas holidays later in the week. But again, with the chance to lock up the division at home against a very poor KC team, I like our chances.

Losing focus to teams such as Oakland on the road is much different than playing a similar team in KC at HOME and WITH the division on the line.

Oakland might be one of the hottest teams right now. They have defeated the Bengals, the Steelers and Denver over the last five weeks.

Yeah, I see where this is going.

The whole epic meltdown of all time situation as the Bengals lose their last games and finish out of the playoffs after sweeping the division.

I just don't see it happening. The Chiefs are an absolute mess as someone else already pointing out. I don't see this being a real flashy game, rather a blunt force trauma type of smashmouth taken out on the Chiefs with LJ doing what Benson did against the Bears. Well, it may be more Benson, but you get my point.

I think the Bengals win by a couple of TD's and heavily control the clock.

Lets call it:

Bengals 24

Chiefs 10

Wow. The Bengals lost to the hottest team in the NFL on their turf by a last second 52 yard FG, and now we can't beat the 3-11 Chiefs in Cincinnati?

I think Marvin will let LJ use up all his pent up aggression on the Chiefs. The defense has been giving up yards the last two weeks on RB and TE screens. KC doesn't have the tools to accomplish this.

I'm thinking 26-6 type score.

Yes, I'm still confident in this team. They battled midweek tragedy, went out to the West Coast, and overcame adversity to tie it up late against one of the best teams in the NFL. I see no reason to start to panic. The Bengals looked much better this week, and appear to be getting back to good football just at the right time for a playoff run.

But, even though the Bengals may not be among the NFL elite - they'll handle KC.
