walzav29
Except for the spread! Damn Calvin Johnson. This is great. The penalties are driving me nuts, the lack of chemistry in the passing game, and playing down to the level of competition. Next week will be fun. The Bengals will win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TJJackson
-WHo gives a crap if SD wins or loses to the BrownsI do. It could be pivotal. It's not pivotal if we turn around and lose to them. If we come to them and they are down one game on us, and beat us, we are tied and they have the head to head, so it really makes no difference unless losing to the browns ends up being the a factor for overall record. I"m just saying, the Browns are meaningless if we just take care of our own dirty laundry.Uhm, it IS important. It COULD be pivotal.A win by the Browns is mostly meaningless, but does help in terms of tiebreakers based on strength of scheduleOn the other hand, a loss by the Chargers (or Broncos or Patriots) is very important in that it helps solidify the possibility of a first round bye

BlainThePain
Andre Smith looked like a beast when he was in there. He completely man handled Avril on that Ochocinco TD reception. Avril beat Roland on one of those sacks BTW. The run defense doesn't look nearly the same without Peko. I think Peko is the second most important player on the team. I say screw that noise. Be critical of the problems and hope for the best, but damn, can we have some faith? Can we revel in our wins no matter how ugly? Can we stride with confidence? Do we really need to torture ourselves over who the Browns beat?

I'm merely pulling for the Browns to beat a team that also controls it's own destiny. It's not being overly negative to hope for a best possible case scenario. Yep, we have concerns over the passing game, the kicking game still makes everyone itchy, and the D, well, you have to wonder when all the injuries will take their toll. And the Bengals have lost a game or two that make other games, like the Brown-Chargers tilt, of more than passing interest. All that said, I'm not in a bad mood tonight. Bngals won, Steelers lost, all is right in the world. I'm not suggesting everyone is negative either, and I have said numerous times how great it would be if we had '05 offense with this defense and an added dimension in the running game, but people were still bashing TE play when Foschi was catching 3rd down passes for conversions and picking one up for us in the endzone, which was promptly forgotten the next week by several people claiming we had no passing TD's. I don't think I even need to get into the "End the Carson Palmer Experiment" crap.

Well, I think the TE play is worthy of bashing, in that Dan Coats ought to be run out of Cincy on a rail. Foschi has been a bit of a surprise, IMHO, and hasn't gotten quite the praise he deserves. He's quietly been pretty good. As for passing TDs, we now, have, what 16 in 12 games? Not exactly knocking 'em dead. So I think that's a legit observation. Coats sucks and I'd love it if we scored more TD's and less FG's, but I don't think my criticism of the negativity is misplaced when right after a win that makes us 9-3, we've got another thread talking about offensive ineptitude. volcom69
Andre Smith looked like a beast when he was in there. He completely man handled Avril on that Ochocinco TD reception. Avril beat Roland on one of those sacks BTW. The run defense doesn't look nearly the same without Peko. I think Peko is the second most important player on the team.I think it was more of bad tackling then anything. Many times they had Smith in the back field but couldnt tackle him! I also agree though they do miss Peko so lets hope he is soon back.

Just wondering if they were trying to spare him as much as possible or if "livings" was simply the starter.Crocker had an MRI not sure how he is doing. Really don't mind him at all and look for Keep him & Coffman next year then more likely bring in a blocking TE.

I just think it is way out of line to say someone rooting against the Chargers is negative or that they have no confidence in the Bengals. Sure, I think the Bengals are capable of winning out. I also think they are capable of beating Oakland, Houston, and Denver. Having confidence that they are able to do something and making the assumption that they will are very different. And for the record, I don't know a single fanbase that doesn't cheer against other teams that are also in position to compete with them. I can think of no fanbase more arrogant than the Steelers, and I remember listening to them cheering their asses off for Baltimore to lose to Dallas last year because it would mean clinching the division a week earlier. Everyone does it, and it has nothing to do with a lack of confidence in your own team. Nearly all fans cheer for other teams to help pave their way. cincyhokie
Peko is most likely having his knee scoped but will be back for the playoffs. We need Peko back ASAP and I think he will be. I was at the game and I am fairly certain that I saw Mathis playing late in the game, which is good. I also saw Crocker on the sidelines walking around which means he wasn't in the locker room with his injury. Let's hope for the best.
