walzav29
The Bengals have alot working against them. Pitt knows they have to win, because of the division, Mendenhall is playing instead of Parker, The Revenge factor, The return of Troy P., The stories of the Bengals being the new bullies of the AFC North. That's alot of fuel.But.....The Bengals are a great road team, they're confident, they still are the underdogs, and maybe they can just relax and play because they've beaten the Steelers, and the Steelers are coming off a big Monday night win. It is going to be crazy. I'm nervous, but they've pulled through so far this year every time they need to.

Stripes
I really hope the Steelers stick to their usual gameplan against the Bengals and try to run the ball right down our throats early and often. Their typical bully strategy will lose them the game this year.
agreen_112
To me, this game is going to be twice as hard as the Ravens game. I know we already beat 'em, but Pitt didn't play a very good game in that first matchup. I hate to say it but Pitt kinda beat themselves. Pittsburgh is the team to beat right now in the NFL. They will be prepared. They will not take this game lightly playing at home against a division rivalry.
GoBengals!
Why can't the Steelers just go away and let the Bengals win the division? Haven't they won enough?..hahaI am nervous for this Sunday's game. Games like this in the past the Steelers would typically blow out the Bengals. Let's hope the Bengals bring their "A" game and come prepared and win this one.

We played pretty lousy for about 3 quarters and then lit them up in the 4th. No I don't think the Steelers are the team to beat right now. As much as the media makes you believe this it is a false statement. Right now the teams to beat are Indy and the Saints. Steelers are good but they are not the team to beat in the NFL. They are the team to beat this week for the Bengals though. We still get little respect.

redsbengalsbucks
I will be happy if they play a close game, win or lose. The season isnt over if they cant sweep the Stealers. What they do have to do is beat the lower level teams that they face in the second half of the season and win a couple of tough games to go along with them. Make the playoffs anyway possible and turn it on when it counts.
101Airborne
What kills me is that in some places Steelers are ranked 4th at the head of the 6-2 teams. I got into an argument with someone about this that basically boiled down to him saying the Steelers would win this week. I don't understand the mentality of ranking teams on what they might do instead of what they've done. I also asked him if he would have the Bengals ranked above the Steelers if the Bengals were 7-1. He responded that he would. I then brought up the fact that the only reason we aren't 7-1 is because of a crazy tipped pass and that his assessment of us vs the Steelers was riding totally on a single fluke play. I thought we might get the respect we deserve when we beat the Ravens in round 2. I am left wondering if we have to sweep our whole division before people get it. walzav29
Alot of the lack of Bengal love on rankings is the fact that NO ONE had the Bengals doing anything. So they would rather rank Pitt, Baltimore or Green Bay for that matter over Cincy because of preseason predictions.

The pundits can keep the respect. Arizona makes Super Bowl last year, never received one once of genuine respect throughout the season. Fine. I'll have one of those. That said, prior to this year we always played better at Heinz than at home. We've already got the home win. Go step on the Squeelers
kenyon1977
Unlike a lot of people I have complete faith in the Bengals laying down a thumping on the Steelers.Am I worried? NoAm I concerned? NoDo I think Coach Z will have a defense in place to take care of them? AbsolutelyDo I care about recent history? No. This is a far better team than what has been put on the field in the past.
Ickey44
I really don't know which way this one will go. Both teams have played very impressively since their last game and both teams are running on all cylinders now. It'll be an exciting game however it ends up, but I'd love nothing more than a sweep of the Steelers. When's the last time we even did that? I'll have one of those.I will too, don't get me wrong, I'll grant you that media, power rankings, Vegas odds et. all are totally meaningless at the end of the day and the season but it galls me to see people talking without thinking. I understand homerism by fans, even when it swallows up their ability to think critically, but if you're going to write professionally you should at least attempt some level of thought independent of your bias. All of that aside, I think we have as good a chance to beat the Steelers as anyone else we play this season. We will not skate by with the mistakes we made last game. If we can avoid the traps of an undisciplined team, we win.

Everyone keep doing what you've been doing during the Bengals upswing.Billy... You start the gameday thread.I'll bet on the Bengals regardless of spread (I did so for the first time ever against Chicago, and again against the Ravens).Anyone else want to let us know what they've been doing to help the team win? membengal
I happily have no expectations. I am happy weekly at this point to see what the Bengals have in the tank, and love their toughness. The toughness thing is so new to my experience as a fan that I find my old expectations heading into games like this are useless. I am really enjoying the weekly surprise of being a fan of this team at this point.I think regardless of outcome, Pittsburgh will know they have been in a game when the clocks hits zeros at the end of the fourth quarter. Like last time.ETA: To help keep this going I am (1) continuing my no expectations mindset for each week and (2) rocking my sole Bengals jersey, a vintage orange "Thurman" on gamedays. Pidge
All the pressure is on the Steelers. We have the division wins in the bag. HairOnFire
Underdogs...on the road...I like Cincy's chances. Yeah, but look who they're underdogs to. The defending champions. If the Bengals were going on the road to play any other team it might be a different story. In fact, in the last two weeks I've started hearing a few media whispers about the Bengals going to the Super Bowl. Sweep the Steelers and those whispers are going to become shouts. walzav29
I've checked alot of sites and the Steelers are the new favorite team. They get stronger as the year goes yada-yada-yada. Which is great for Cincy. They can pull this one out. Palmer is such a difference maker.
