Big C @ the DDN says the Niners are hot for Housh.

I say, why the hell not? We obviously aren't going anywhere this season and the Bengals have clearly been uninterested in extending TJ's deal, so get something for him and get the young'uns some time on the field.

No, tag him. They need his experience to guide the young receivers.

The young receivers don't need guidance, they need to get their asses on the field.

COB: I think the reluctance to extend may stem from TJ's offseason/preseason attitude. Marvin clearly has a much lower tolerance for guys who blow off voluntaries and have sudden injury issues spring up in camp. Ask Rudi...

If you don't plan on resigning him go ahead and trade him might as well get something,If you do plan on resigning him offer them chad johnson

No way. He's reliable. I can't understand why the Bengals refuse to extend him. Unless TJ is just throwing out prohibitive numbers to force something that would get him back to California.

Or maybe he wants good money with a team that atleast has a chance and isn't 0-5.

I wouldnt be surprised if they trade him for Takeo Spikes since he was a FA for so *** damn long, and this organization is mentally handicapped.

Now, i love housh but if the 49ers sent over a first and Pat Willis they have themselves a DEAL!

Fine by me as well.

I guess, but I doubt anything will come of this.

wasn't losing tj and ocho loco something every bengals fan contemplated at the beginning of the season?

yeah, tj has done the best so far this year, but they still lose with him being there. personally, i like the idea of letting him go to get some draft picks, and let the other six guys pick up the slack. in the end, i think there are far more reasons to let him go than to keep him. were he the second coming of jerry rice *and* won games, different story.

certainly tj wants to go to a team that has a chance to have a winning season every now and then. imo, it's a foregone conclusion he wants to bail, so might as well get something for him while the gettin's good. putting a franchise tag on him serves no one well in this case, i feel.

then again, MB isn't known for making good trades.... i heard he traded in his '05 escalade in for an '85 'vette... a chevette.

No Way the Bengals trade Housh.....The way this organization is run, they'd much rather let guys leave (JSmith,Madieu,Steinbach, soon to be Stacey) than trade them while they can....Have you guys not learned anything? Seriously though, with average receivers (see Lee Evans) getting $9 mill per year, what are they odds the Bengals pony-up and give that kind of cash to a receiver in his 30's?

I'd sure as hell like to keep him, but he may be too expensive now.....Would have been a couple mill cheaper at least had they extended him last year.

That's probably it. And when I look at how this team has performed when their first team offense makes game one of the regular season pretty much their first full-speed practice, I understand Marvin's attitude.
