I Had Forgotten How...

...annoying listening to ML press conferences after losses is.

Turns out, after reviewing the tape, the offense didn't play or execute well.

Really doctor?

Really?

It took reviewing tape to figure that out?

Jeebus.

His Rx for fixing it?

"Got to do things better".

Shoot me.

ML is confident they can play better. That makes one of him.

He says there was "no deflation of confidence" when the first two short fields were wasted.

ML thought Perry "for the most part was on track and did some good things". He focused on the two longer runs he had. "I thought Chris did a good job running the football...there are a few things we need to be cleaner on."

As for the receivers, "we got grabbed a couple of times off the line, we need to do better."

So, there you have it. They need to do better.

And on a Shaun Alexander question (he says he would be surprised if Alexander comes to the team---which means he is probably already signed...), he flees the room, after 9 minutes of non-answers and platitudes.

Folks, your 2008 season, underway! ML is on the case, and says they need to play better!

Rest easy tonight. Jeebus.

How do you figure they would have signed Shaun if he answered that he would be suprised if he was here.

Simply because he feels if he says we're not interested, Mike Brown will sign him.

I suppose a press conference could make you feel better, but I don't expect to hear anything of substance from one of these. Lewis has been consistent from day 1 in pretty much never saying anything. I don't fault him for lauching misinformation campaigns in press conferences. It works pretty well for Billichick. The proof is in the game and they stunk. I'm not sure anything he could say would make a difference. It's what he says to the players that matters and we wouldn't know what that is anyway.

ML says he isn't going to detail the issues in the press conference, simply saying "we need to play better" in general.

I think I am learning to hate him.

ML claims "we need to be tighter on unconventional things" with "more technique".

Good to know. Let the winning begin!

Correct.

Chris Henry says "hi".

And, billy, yes, yes I am.

It's a matter of style, bbtb.

I always preferred Parcells' approach. He never gave specifics either, but at least you knew when he was pissed too. I never get the impression that ML is anything other than sanguine. And I don't like that approach for this team. At. all.

I've always loved Marvin in a press conference, and I still do. My confidence in his ability to actually motivate a football team continues to dwindle, but the press conferences certainly won't ever be something I criticize him for.

Nah...there's plenty of other areas for that to be accomplished in.
