kingwilly
what a waste of space. Banish Chad to SF or Detroit. IF the Bengals have any goddam self-respect they will just let him sit this whole freaking year and waste away. This guy is flushing his reputation and what is left of his career right down the crapper.Ugh, how I am so over this guy.
HairOnFire
Ocho Cinco even went as far as to stick up for T.O. when the FSN people rolled the Original 81's emotional outburst after the Cowboys' playoff loss."You know what's funny? Y'all don't have my clip," he said. "I'm crying about losing. We played Jacksonville, Sunday night, we're 4-0. I'm mad because we're 4-1. I was mad. I was the same way." I remember that game. Jacksonville's cornerbacks punked Chad all game long, but he later went on his website and claimed they hadn't covered him. Seems to me they covered him well enough to cause him to emotionally meltdown on the sidelines while the game was still being played. Then again, that's happened before, right? (Baltimore, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, Carolina, Tampa Bay, New England, etc)On a more serious note, Johnson did address the situation from the 2005 playoff game against Pittsburgh, and alleged punch he threw at a coach at halftime."That's not what happened," he insisted. "There was an incident. Man, I was pissed off. I was mad. I'm in the biggest game of my career, I got one catch, y'all are not using me. I'm pissed off. I'm emotional. You know how I am about the game. Yeah, I think everyone knows now how he is about the game. Emotionally weak, intellectually weak, and of shockingly weak character. In fact, Chad Johnson's lack of character threatens to do more harm to this team than those of Odell Thurman and Chris Henry combined."Some people may not like Chad Johnson," he said. "Some people maybe do. But it really doesn't matter. When I touch that field, I'm just like insurance, you can count on me." Count on him for what? To go off on the Dolphins in a meaningless season ending game? Or to emotionally meltdown whenever the glare gets too bright?
COB
Count on him for what? To go off on the Dolphins in a meaningless season ending game? Or to emotionally meltdown whenever the glare gets too bright? The two are not mutually exclusive. Chad can be counted on for both. He's a double threat. Seriously, is Chad ok? I'm starting to wonder about his well being. And what is he doing out in LA? I though Miami was his home base in the off-season. Come on Jerra, let's hear that offer. And come on Mike Brown, you can turn what is the concensus "most immature" team in the NFL into a group of grownups with one trade.
HoosierCat
A note from pro football weekly today...Cowboys will look at all WR possibilities closelyMarch 21, 2008Stephen Jones and Wade Phillips both have said in the past few weeks that running back, cornerback and wide receiver are the team’s biggest needs with the draft approaching. And although the team likely will stand pat as far as any big moves are concerned before April 26, the Cowboys will keep their eyes on the wide receivers around the league — think Chad Johnson, Anquan Boldin, and the Lions’ Roy Williams — and whether they suddenly become available. If that were the case, team sources imagine that parting with a first-round pick to land the right wideout would not be a problem, especially with owner Jerry Jones having said he wants to add some "wow" to the offense. The team likes Patrick Crayton, who started most of last season and could be a No. 2 if needed, but the choice of adding a top veteran wide receiver over a rookie who might be two years away from developing fully is not much of a choice at all.If the 'boys were willing to part with one of their firsts (probably the No. 28) for Chad, I'd take that in a heartbeat and target Indiana's James Hardy at the bottom of the round. I'll take # 28 this year, and a 3rd, in '08, but nothing less than a 2nd in '09.Chad's in the prime of his career, He's coming off of 5 straight Pro Bowls, Led the AFC in receiving yards 4 / 5 years , and WE'd still have to eat the the hit for the salary cap in '08!To a guy like Jerry Jones, all he hears is...... T.O. + C. J. = Super Bowl XLIII Champs ! And he'll make the deal !
HoosierCat
Call me GreedyHi, Greedy!I'm perfectly happy with a 1. I've been grousing for some time over the state of the WR corps and calling for a high draft pick to be used there. Hate to have it cost Chad, but I'll swap a 31-year-old wideout whose best years are behind him for a young buck in April. And yeah, we may eat a couple million versus the cap this year, but with Chad off the books in 2009 we have another ~$7 million for TJ and/or FA in 2009. chrishcovga
I should've used my intuition on lottery numbers, but something told me that it would be ( HOOSIER CAT) that would call me greedy We've done all the I HATE CHAD posts, let's just start the official WHAT'S CHAD WORTH - COMPENSATION FORUM1. I'll start the bidding..... As new GM of the Cincinnati Bengals , Chad Johnson is officially on the "Trading Block".The bidding starts at 2 first round draft picks. Plus a Conditional pick to be determined by his statistics and SuperBowl birth!- I.E. If Chad equals 1350 - 1440 yards and 8 touchdowns in year 1 with his new team, Plus A super Bowl Birth, The subsequent compensation shall be an additional 2nd round pick the following year. 2. If Chad equals 1350 -1440 yards and 8 touchdowns in year 1, but no Super Bowl Birth, The compensation shall be a 3rd rounder.3. If Chad fails to equal 1350 - 1440 yards and 8 touchdowns in year 1, And No Super Bowl Birth, The compensation shall be a 4th rounder. 4. All other situations can be negotiated at a 6th rounder or later.
BengalszoneBilly
I'm more tired of these Chad threads than I am of the use of the same actors over and over in an Adam Sandler movie.Bottom line IMHO, Chad isn't going anywhere. Nor is T.J.Take that to the bank.

ArmyBengal
I still don't see the Bengals letting Chad go, but I find myself caring less and less as time goes by, if he is in stripes next year. If we could get a first or more in trade, I say get rid of him and start the search for the next WR to put in stripes...WHODEY !!!

NJ29
The more this crap goes on, the more I want him gone, but at the same time, I still don't see it happening. There's no backbone to get it done in the front office.

BengalszoneBilly
Who watches Adam Sandler movies?Apparently enough people for him to make more money than all the members here combined. You could also throw in a few Bengal players as well. Aside from the "Wedding Singer", I really don't care for his movies.Besides...I've always had a chubby for Drew Barrymore. Nor is T.J.Take that to the bank.Unfortunately, I agree...but only because Mikey Boy is too stupid and stubborn to realize that this team would get better without Stincho. If they dont get rid of Stincho this spring, it only reinforces what we all ready know about one of the worst front offices in all of sports.
