BengalszoneBilly
Here's Marvin's quote following the game:"I'm not going to try to explain it," Lewis said afterward. "That's our business."Well EFF you Lewis! After that loss there BETTER be some explanation you dick! In Marvin I Trust my a$$!
WhoDey93285
I love Marvin and I thank him for turning this franchise around, but his free pass is up. If this team doesn't make the playoffs, I say can him. Too much talent on this team to settle for mediocrity.

BengalszoneBilly
I think monday will offer more insight. As long as that insight includes Marvins foot planted in Bresnahans a$$, I'm good with that. Good God. Can't we find some defensive consistency ANYWHERE? It's been this way forever!

This is in keeping with his " the fans don't have a vested interest " statement from a couple of years back. He most likley put his foot in his mouth ( again ) speaking while he was pissed off and embarrassed. He'll most likely pop into feather smoothing mode tomorrow ... just like he did last time. Not sure if it'll work as well this time ... but then I guess " thats our ( fans ) business.

ArmyBengal
Well, I woke up this morning to find that the Bengals scored 45, Carson throws for over 400 yards with 6 TD's, Rudi rushes for over 100, and Chad catches for over 200. Then to see the motherf*cking BROWNS scored 51 in their win is just unacceptable by any account.Don't give me that "Any given Sunday" sh*t either. This loss is about as unacceptable as any loss I can remember in a very long time. Marvin better think twice about what his comments are in regards to a game that should have been won with 2nd string guys. This is an embarrassment, nothing more. All the good things I said about our defense last week get flushed. Period. I really can't hardly believe this.WHODEY !!! gregstephens
Sorry, Marv. It's go time. Give us another 8-8 (or worse) season, and it may be time to fix the problem at the head--i.e. you. Don't tell us it's none of our business when it's our money you are taking home. HoosierCat
Just fyi...pending tonight's finish & tomorrow's game...the D is through two weeks...29th in points and;30th in yards.Well, at least we're consistent, eh?

Ickey44
What do you want him to say? "We sucked today," is about the only explanation he can give you and he's not gonna say that. But I bet Chuckie and the players hear it plenty tomorrow...
membengal
Same issues, same problems, same everything. It is the lack of a game plan for the D from week to week that makes anything approaching sense so frustrating. I simply don't get it. And it's all on ML at this point. And, yes, fans who invest so much in the team absolutly deserve explanations. This was a devastating loss, because it puts the onus on the team to try and steal one in Seattle (where it's damn near impossible to win) or steal one from the Pats who look as good as it is possible to look right now to get to the break 2-2. And, given how easy Pitsburgh's first four games are, they are looking at 4-0 in that span. What a horriffic loss. In every respect.Like getting punched in the testes. The PatternMaster
I think people need to calm down, after a game the coaches need to review the tape to see what happened. Marvin's not going to throw anybody under the bus, yet, so he said what he said.

Marvin's not going to throw anybody under the bus, yet, so he said what he said.Review the tape? I'll tell him what happened. The defense got shredded by a past-his-prime running back and one of the worst starting QBs in the league. The scheme was completely wrong and the players appeared utterly unprepared. A great deal of that falls on the coaches.Marvin's also never understood that he is, like it or not, the face of the team and he's in the entertainment industry. He doesn't seem to want attention, but without us watching him do his job he doesn't have one. I believe he does owe the fans a real statement. I realize he's not going to toss anyone under the bus publically, but we deserve better than that.
HoTbOy
This happens way too much with this team some of these coaches need to be accountable for this happening...This is not only Chuck other coaching changes need to be made with DL and LB also...How could this be team business when everyone saw what happened... mgilgris
Not only did the defense play bad, but there were little to no adjustments. Find another f**** way to blitz if your not applying pressure. Our defense is a bunch of girls for the lack of using a better word.

But right after a game in which a prideful bunch of men got their asses handed to them on national tv what do really expect the guy to say? They were embaressed even more so than the fans, so believe that he was disappointed and angered by the teams and coaches performance. membengal
I expect him to man up and say exactly the truth. Nothing more, nothing less. I always loved Bill Parcells after losses like this. He'd sugar coat nothing. He'd take blame. He would advise that the team was about to get lit up. And he would work at fixing it.A little of THAT kind of reaction from ML would be approprate. Welcome, in fact.

mgilgris
Agreed, I think marvin forgets that while he may not like the media's probing questions, the media is asking questions for the fans and the fans are the ones ultimately paying his salary. I would rather he react like Parcells and say what we he really feels instead of taking out his agression on a bunch of reporters. As a once, high pitched, well loved coach said ..."playoffs!!!! sqeek sqeek? Playoffs ??!!!
