mgi
Ndukwe: Missed a couple tackles but held down the fort in back-up roleLeon Hall: I thought he played excellent coverage for his first start. Broke up a few plays in the end-zone and was a part of the fumble by McClain. He had good awarness of where the ball was.Ahmad Brooks (technically not new but keeps appearing with this draft class): Big confidence boost. Seemed to be around the ball.Lemar Marshall: Put some pressure on McNair and made some plays. It was nice to see this addition pay-off (or hopefully "play-off") some. Forced a fumble.Michael Myers: The addition who saved the game. Our special teams coverage sucked, but PK Sams looked good; too bad he isn't returning for us--can't say I am sorry we cut him, but he'd still be nice to have.Who-dey! HoosierCat
Huge game for Hall IMO. Thrown into the starting role and not just helps his own case but made plays. Best damn tackler I've seen on this team in a long time. Big game and he came up big...just what we need.
volcom69
Yes loved the way Hall played and O'neil played a good game to. This may sound bad but i thought Bres had some nice blitz tonight and i hope he keeps that up pressure really helped tonight.
membengal
Hall was ridiculously good. How about that play he made at the back of the end zone, circling behind the Ravens receiever and poking the ball free from behind? I have not seen a Bengals DB make a play like that in decades. Hall was supremely good. Phenomenally good. It can't be said enough how good he was. Both in coverage and in tackling. He made that fumble along with Brooks where they had the fullback stacked up. Hall just ripped it from him. Brook was a beast. Can't be said enough. And apparently playing with flu. Marshall was so good at SSLB, I don't think Jeanty gets his job back when he gets healthy.Myers along with Peko gives them actual strength up the middle. For f**kssake, the whole thing is absolutely jaw-dropping. mgilgris
One thing that was differnt tonight was that the they covered Heap fairly well besides the TD that they called back. He normally tears us up, as does any good TE

TJJackson
I just like how the D kept attacking, not laying back (rush 3, soft cover with 8) like in previous yearsThey didn't always make the play but when they did, it was at 100 miles per hour. Big hits on McNair.Special teams - ugh. Can't wait for my current favorite Bengal - a player I admittedly howled in dismay about when they drafted him - to get healthy. #43 on your roster, #1 to the opposing kick returner. The 2006/2007 version of the man you see to the left......My big negative surprise of the evening....lordie, what has happened to Tab? Come 100 MPH and lose..but at least come at 100 MPH. Screw the soft zone. Eery time McNair got anyting it was when they laid back. Just attack. It's that simple. If you get beat, oh well. The other way you are dead.
Kazkal
Ndukwe: Did a solid job him being in I figured we'd give up atleast 1 50+ yard pass.Leon Hall: did give up a few plays but all CB's do he played great for being a rookie,he was as advertised the most pro ready corner out of that dreat.Ahmad Brooks had a good game,he caused a fumble was flying all over the place and causing pressure.Lemar Marshall: I really liked lemar,if he keeps it up mybe bengals extend him with 3 year vet contract Michael Myers: You can kill me any time if you keep it upOur special teams coverage sucked, but PK Sams looked good; too bad he isn't returning for us--can't say I am sorry we cut him, but he'd still be nice to have.Who-dey!True this PS,I'm really happy with chuck's play calling I called for his head last season but if he keeps us away from prevent defense and keeps this up I may want him stick around
ShulaSteakhouse
Fun game, glad they won, lots of room for improvement. Wouldn't read too much into the Baltimore o-line and the Bengals' D, every week will be a challenge.Bellick bitching about the refs after the game was lame. The offense still managed to cash in on turnovers and score 20 points against the #1 D. The 0-line is in trouble without the tackles, but they got it done. The defense let Baltimore drive down the field, and depended purely Baltimore mistakes and poor play calling.Just not that impressed with the defense - but they should be better than last year. I just hate to depend on freakish plays and turnovers to win games every week. Didn't get them anywhere the last 2 years ultimately, you still have to stop people.Kalil would look good on that o-line right now.One game at a time I guess, get 'em next week, just win, don't care how ugly. Football isn't the precision of a space shuttle mission. Its a series of miscues followed by someone winning and losing. Today the D won with some excellent individual efforts. The PatternMaster
First off if of you "fans" weren't impressed with the win and how the defense played then your a idiot.Secondly the new guys showed up like gang busters, especially on the defense. I would have to say that Lemar Marshall was huge in his first game as a Bengal, welcome home Lemar.Ahmed Brooks was stellar in his MNF debut, if this was first game I can't wait to see him really get his feet under him.The secondary played well, they can tighten it up some, but still it was a good game. All in all I'm loving the new and improved defense. Keep it going guys, 19 games to go.
DC_Bengals_Fan
I'll spread it around even more. Whipping boy Deltha O'Neal was outstanding all game long and used absolutely perfect technique defending a pass that might have resulted in a TD.That's a good point, he did play well the few times I saw his number - which, as a corner, says all you need to know. Guess Deltha was playing well enough that they decided to try picking on the Rook - and that didn't work at all. Tell ya what, it could be interesting when JJoe gets back, that nickel package might find its way on the field in more situations than you might otherwise think. That or 3CB/1S when Dexter inevitably gets hurt in the 2nd quarter. agreen_112
Leon Hall was great. His ball skills are amazing! That one play where he stripped the ball from the reciever and then picked it and attempted to take it the other way was a great play, it shouldn't have been blown dead, that was a catch and a fumble. I say leave JJ at Nickel for the time being, let him heal 100% and let the rookie get some extra snaps.
cincy9275
i liked what i seen from everyone that played on our D last, hall and oneil really played well as did d jax and madiue. geather is a monster myers was real good. marshall johnson and brooks thumbs up there to. the constant pressure they were bringing was nice to see. just hope they can do it all season . the offense carson mised a lot of throws , tab looked lost, running game look bad they just looked very rusty they will come around and get it together next weekS/T very very bad was disgusted with there play no big returns blocked extra point punt return for a td big returns by pk sam all in all just very bad. also can not believe that they did not carry another kicker with shayne hurting thought that was very dumb. better get it right simmons WTF!last season we prolly lose this game so was nice to see us come out on top of a sloppy hard fought game. there is some area'a that need shored up but being the first game of the season i will not bash them lol.
