Cranky Levi

Well, it appears that Levi has discovered that taking forever to heal and publicly blaming it on the (on) crack med staff is a surefire ticket straight to Marvin's doghouse. Heck, if he'd just asked Warrick or Chris Perry, they could have told him that...

I think Whitworth will start at LT for at least the first few games. He's worked there all camp and preseason, and surely has better timing and footwork with Stacy than Levi would at this point. And with Willie still a question mark it's a lot less disruptive to simply plug Levi in at RT versus shuffling both your tackles.

Still, you have to hate to see friction between a key player and the coaches headed into the season. <_<

wah, wah, wah....what a cry-baby. I'd sit him just for mouthing.

What does he get out of this drivel? Does he think it will make the coaching staff really consider his point of view? No. Does he get more snaps? No. Does he get sympathy from the fans? No. Does he get the respect and attention of the League? No. Does he feel better that he got to vent? Maybe.

Tip to Levi: If you are so disappointed by the Bengals Medical Staff, then go to AZ and fix your knee but venting in the press will get you absolutely nothing but grief.

Sooo, where the hell did this come from? I mean it's always something. The dude has been hurt, and trying to get healthy. He hasn't played, barely practiced, so the coaches are trying to get the guy some snaps. So what gives?

I swear to god this kind of stuff that will get our Francise QB killed.

Uhm, I'm a Virgo too, and I'm one of the more scatterbrained people you'd wanna meet.

Not sure what that has to do with anything.

Not a damn thing in my book.

lol, I think I'm pretty smart, but all that type-A personality I'm assuming he associates with Virgo's you can toss out the window concerning me.

I'm a right-brained, Type-B ALLLLL the way........no organizational skills or control issues whatsoever....

Speaking of virgo's, a certain someone is celebrating a birthday real soon.....

AND----he shares the birthday with Beyonce Knowles...... ;)

Hobs asked Lewis about Levi in his cuts story today:

Lewis also responded to left tackle Levi Jones' complaint to the media that he isn't getting enough practice time to get ready for the opener now that he's been back from knee rehab for two weeks.

"Levi's full of (crap)," Lewis said. "Andrews is readier to play than he is. Levi should just shut the (hell) up. And that's all I have to say about that."

Asked if Jones will start against Baltimore, Lewis said, "Like I'm going to tell you, Hobson."

OK, that wasn't exactly how it went...just close

Lewis also responded to left tackle Levi Jones' complaint to the media that he isn't getting enough practice time to get ready for the opener now that he's been back from knee rehab for two weeks.

"Levi understated how much he practiced by maybe a third," Lewis said. "It concerns me that it's not about you, Levi, it's about the football team and he knows that and realizes that. I don't want the guys to vent their frustration to you and I'm not going to vent my frustration to you."

Asked if Jones will start against Baltimore, Lewis said, "I don't have to make that determination now to you."

:lol: I liked your first response from Marvin best. :sure: Still he treated Hobson like a little b**ch.

And the beat goes on...now Levi's agent throws in his two cents...

http://www.bengals.com/news/news.asp?story_id=6239

Can we officially tag Levi "disgruntled" yet? :lmao:

This ain't good, and I don't like it. We got enough problems heading into the opener with Baltimore... <_<

Levi's grumblings are actually fairly typical of those you hear from players who "lose their starting job because of injury." That that's not supposed to happen has always been something of an unwritten rule. Plus I'll bet you there's money involved, a bonus or escalator or incentive he can only earn if he starts all 16 games. Personally I think his best chance is still to STFU and go bust a$$ in practice this week, but what do I know, eh?

Good advice Hoosier. I hope someone passes it to him. I know there's a fair amount of pride involved too, but he should just swallow it and kick his play up a notch IMHO.

Fine by me. That's straight from Parcells' playbook.

If it's all the same to you, I'd rather use a playbook from many other Super Bowl winning coaches.

Your thinking of marty :P because parcell's done that :P

This isn't sounding good agent implying bengals might as well trade him if their not going use that, then yet he backs tracks saying he's not suggesting that....

-_- though no way it happens after his deal being brand new.

Meh. Whatever else Parcells was and wasn't, the one thing I always admired about him was his ability to instill in his team's a fear of being in the trainer's room.

Much ado about nothing.

In my opinion offensive lineman always overreact when interviewed, probably because they always feel underappreciated. It's never a good idea to ask them anything, especially about how they're feeling. As for Levi's venting, Marvin's right about others being more prepared to play right now....negating Levi's complaint about getting extra snaps against lesser competition than he's used to playing against.

After watching Marvin's interview from yesterday, I agree that it'll most likely amount to nothing.

Still, it's just not the right way to go about making a complaint...

Vets hate training camp. When they leverage their injuries to skip camp, why do they expect management to stand up and applaud? I laughed when Willie described the mystery procedure he had done on his ankle, just in time to miss most of camp. It was non-invasive and had a 50% chance of working! Levi wants to play so much, they played him. Where's the complaint?
