HoosierCat
He called Bres's scheme "wimpy". lol!Our DC?O'Neal! Joseph! Back up! I told you I want you 20 yards off the line! And you, whatsyername, the new guy...Hall! yeah, Hall, get off the field and get me a hamburger, now! I'll pay ya Tuesday!
kingwilly
WE ALL KNOW THE PROBLEMS WITH THE DEFENSE !!1. Chuck Bresnahans' wimpy scheme.2. Age and lack of athleticism at Defensive Tackle ( except Peko )3. No O'Dell, NO Pollack ( Should've been playing DE anyways - or we should have made the move to the 3-44. Chuck Bresnahans' wimpy scheme. ( The Eagle cover 3 only works on Madden CHUCK ) I'm not concerned about the Defense surprisingly. I actually think the " D " will be better this year. - I'm Concerned about the OFFENSE1. Offensive line's health. - this unit is a far cry from the unit that was so dominant in '05.2. No Chris Henry - Tab is so average compared to Henry's elite type of skill. The others are just roster spots.- Hopefully, Skyler Green can give the offense short fields to work with on a regular basis.3. No One to take 100 or more carries behind Rudi. Maybe Chris Perry comes back, Maybe he doesn't. Is it just me, Or does no one on this coaching staff have any faith in Kenny Watson !!He called Bres's scheme "wimpy". lol!"wimpy" works, but I like "toothless" better. ShulaSteakhouse
Wimpy is a good word. Bresh is so concerned with not giving up the big play, he's sacrificing everything else to accomplish it, and it hasn't worked unless they're playing the NFC Central and against a bunch of turnover prone, crappy Qb's.Guys like Brady and Manning take Bresh and his ill-fated philosophy out to the Woodshed and spank him like a little school boy.I've pretty much seen enough of it already, and to think we haven't even started the season yet and he's here for 16 more games.I hope Carson can throw 50 TD's this year, it's why I picked him first in my fantasy league. HairOnFire
I love it when old threads are revisited. It gives you a chance to laugh loudly while saying....I told ya' so!!!....which I'm not going to do despite the temptation. Instead, I'm going in another direction as I stumbled upon this nugget and was reminded of TJJackson's regrettable attempts to portray himself as my wife. Hype Henderson.Sweetie, have I mentioned that it makes me smile every time you call Mr Henderson that? It's almost like you do it just for my benefit :-) I've only done two things just for your benefit. First, I often reach down into my lap and stroke your hair when you're servicing me. Hopefully it can be mistaken as a sign that I think you're pretty. Last, I stopped resting my beer on your head after you complained about it might be a sign that I don't respect you. membengal
Exactly CarsonCity, exactly. How in the hell can guys be running so f**king wide open? How? Like, 20 yards open kind of stuff? What the f**k is that all about?I still don't know why that was in the pre-season, but thank god it wasn't that way last night... TJJackson
TJJackson's regrettable attempts to portray himself as my wife.Actually, you're the one cast in the wife role....I mean, c'mon, if you aren't the poster child for extra strength Midol with your 32-and-a-half-day-a-month OTR ragefests, then who is? As for this thread, I think everyone should take the time to read it from beginning to end. Not only does it contain some very interesting analysis...(I told you so)...but I'd say it's funnier than any episode of "According to Jim". BENGALTHEM
Look.................are defense sucks. The reason why it sucks is because of the scheme. So you have to blame Chucky. I understand the Bengals have had a lot of injuries and suspensions on D. But who doesn't? Despite the injuries and suspensions, I still like the personal on Defense. Smitth, Geathers, Peko, Thorton, Brooks, Hartwell, Jeanty, Johnson, Oneal, Joseph, Hall, Williams, Jackson.....that ain't bad. That kind of personal should get you a top 20 defense. But I fear we will be some where between 30 and 25 again. When I watch the Bengals Defense. Nothing has changed. It's the same vanilla defense. Guys running around wide open. Sometimes it looks like were playing 11 versus 10. I don't understand it. How come are blitzes can't be as affective as the squeelers? Got to blame it on Chucky and Marvin. I just wish our D was more affectively aggressive. When I watch the Bengals play the Colts or the Pats, they get carved up because they play that prevent, keep everything in front of us, try and hold them to a fg, defense, instead of attacking and dictating on defense.Just thought I would quote myself.Browns 51 Bengals
