Kazkal
I still stand by having Rowe take over for Doug Johnson in preseason,It's not like doug needs the reps he stinks he always has and always will let's atleast try and develop Rowe that way mybe we can trade him to a crappy team like the falcons did. ShulaSteakhouse
Simmons' punt blocking schemes blow Glad Brooks did something finally on that last drive. If only he could play against 3rd stringers on Sundays.I hope Rowe is in there now - you know what you've got in Johnson and he got plenty of work the last two weeks. TJJackson
How about that for a Frostee siting?Don't tell TJ...I saw it :-) My lord, he got on the field.......:-)Now a trivia question: what's better than a sack? Answer: a sack combined with a forced fumble. For the bonus points, care to name the Bengal who is credited with such a play tonight? (Hint: not Frostee)

HoosierCat
Bad news for you from Hobs today, TJ: looks like Hype's sprained wrist (suffered in the NO game) has graduated to a broken wrist. Sounds like he may be headed to the PUP list...if not IR.

HoosierCat
Hobs has an update on Hype...Linebacker Eric Henderson, a sure-shot to make the team, had surgey on his fractured wrist and is waiting to see if it's season-ending or if he'll be able to come back. A surgery would indicate at least eight weeks away.Bengals just can't catch a break (aside from the "bone" variety, that is) on injuries this year. Oh well. Hopefully he can come back after PUP and not be shelved for the year.
TJJackson
I'm not saying that this one injury makes or breaks our season, not at all, but....lordie....does any team in the nfl have as many serious injuries as we have?(yeah I know, this is another subject entirely)
HairOnFire
What an amazing thread. First, Kid Steakhouse says sopmething positive about Justi Smith. Then, TJ is forced to acknowledge the monster hit Frostee Rucker laid on the QB....after beating the LT off the snap and then tossing him aside like he was a wad of flavorless chewing gum. Well, they say good things come in bunches, don't they? So for my part I'll add that Jonathan Fanene looked like a pretty good prospect. Three more unlikely things you'll never read in one setting. That said, Xzavie Jackson looked much worse than in the debut, and Hype Henderson did everything he was known for in college. Namely, make plays and get hurt. Hobs has more good news/bad news in his latest update:Head coach Marvin Lewis cut Monday's workout in half to an hour for what amounted to a walk through in helmets and shorts. It looks like the Bengals are getting healther, ever so slowly. Fullback Jeremi Johnson appeared for the first time in the offeason, and three cornerbacks that missed significant time last week, Johnathan Joseph, Brandon Williams and Keiwan Ratliff, were dressed and on the field, as was wide receiver Glenn Holt. Defensive end Robert Geathers (bruised chest) and linebacker Rashad Jeanty (undisclosed) were on the field but not dressed.Ugh. Jeanty hurt and Henderson maybe lost for the season in the same game. And Geathers hurt...hopefully nothing serious.Good to see JJoe and JJohn coming around, at least.

Good to see we've gotten a few seconds of production out of him in exchange for many months of paying him like the CEO of a small company.Which hit did you like better - the alleged hit by Frostee which I assume came after the throw (or you'd have called it a sack) or the sack with forced fumble by "Hype" Henderson?Oh, and do we need any milk or eggs? I can stop off at the grocery on the way home tonight
HairOnFire
I'll take your word for the "monster hit" by Frostee. Good to see we've gotten a few seconds of production out of him in exchange for many months of paying him like the CEO of a small company. It's amazing to me how often you comment on a player you seem to know nothing about, and whose performance you can judge only after taking the word of others. Here's an idea. Watch the game for once. As for those few precious seconds of play....I first noticed Rucker late in the 1st half. Not sure how long he had been in there prior to that, but he I watched him play the entire 3rd quarter...and the beginning of the 4th. Not that I'd expect a guy like you to notice, but he played mostly at RDE, kicked inside to RDT on a few plays, and then flopped to LDE for a few plays when the Bengals began shifting their lineup. He rarely got an opportunity to flat out rush the passer, being tasked most often with outside containment on plays that overwhelmingly attacked the opposite edge. That said, he managed several QB hurries...mostly after attacking INSIDE while an OLB protected the flank. IMHO, he moves well in traffic, but doesn't look comfortable running stunts yet. Too upright....too deliberate. In my opinion his best play was the one mentioned previously in the thread where he flashed a very good first step, beating the Saint OLT at the snap, and good strength...when he easily tossed the blocker aside. His poorest showing might have been in the goal line package where he was briefly double teamed before being unable to shed the down blocking TE. Best he could manage was stringing the play wide. As for which play I liked better, I'll go with the play made by Hype Henderson since it produced better results. Then again, I have no real agenda with Henderson...which is more than you can say in regards to Rucker.
HoosierCat
Bengals IR'd Henderson today At least Willie sounds more likely; Levi still seems iffy.
