HoosierCat
http://49ers.pressdemocrat.com/default.asp?item=624300Personally, I think it would be a great statement. I'm more of a "corporate casual" guy at work, but given all the issues surrounding the team recently, a reinforcement of professionalism makes some sense, IMHO. Stripes
I voted "yes" because it is something I'd love to see, but I don't mind if he prefers the regular NFL gear.

Needs to be projecting an image that this is serious, this is a job, this is something you get paid for. I dunno if it would help...but I don't think it would hurt. COB
Yes. A suit, then break out the totally old school porkpie hat and complete the Paul Brown ensemble.
ShulaSteakhouse
I really don't see Marvin in a suit, or a tie. The players would see right through that at this point as well. It would be funny to see him in a Deon or Irvin suit on the sidelines though.

Nicholson's already gone, Odell is far from a shoe-in if he gets back in...again, "right through" to what?
HairOnFire
I voted no, but only because when he does wear a suit Marvin seems to prefer those slick and shiny suits that Pete Rose made popular.

ArmyBengal
I personally think the idea of a suit on the sidelines of a football game is beyond rediculous !!! How about comfort level ?? As a coach running up and down the sideline, calling plays, chasing things down, so on and so forth, do you really think a suit is the best option ?? Not to mention when it gets cold !!! Now, if he wanted to change into a suit prior to his post game interviews, NO ISSUE... A suit DURING the game is just crazy to me though. This isn't the NBA !!! I hope the guys wearing suits get caught in a suprise downpour and slosh through the mudpuddles in their wingtips !!!WHODEY !!!
Kazkal
they should be able to wear what they want, though think nolans makes this in to a bigger deal then it is.

However, my wife does that all the time with HER wardrobe selection, as does her gay friend from college. Maybe Nolan is a little... y'know... (BTW, when I was on active duty, there were some times when I'd be more comfortable in service dress uniform, even though I wore BDUs 95% of the time.) If Marvin came rolling to the sidelines looking like Jules, you're telling me the players wouldn't say 'Yes Sir!' to everything he said? That would be a great halftime speech - "....And you will know we are the BENGALS when we lay our vengeance upon THEM DAMNED STEELERS!" BengalszoneBilly
I voted "No" because I simply don't trust anyone wearing a suit and tie to work. Keep it cool and casual!
Walrus
I say yes because I think a good suit would send the message to fans and players that Marvin respects himself, his team and the game in an age where unfortunately a lot of guys around him have demonstated the exact opposite in their conduct on and off the field. That said, there are other, probably better ways of doing this. Belichik does alright wearing a ratty grey sweatshirt and a scowl. But the suit reinforces the message. Plus, it looks good.
