AGrizzlyBaer Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 Well, I hope the Bengals are a lot more concerned about how to prepare for the Raiders D. (And yes that should translate into a whole lot of Rudi) Because their back 7 is hard to crack. Thomas Howard looks like he has added some aggression to the speed teams liked of him as a weakside LB prospect capable of covering slot WRs, Kirk Morrison is a human torpedo who gets back fast and delivers huge hits over the middle, Mike Huff is a bigtime player at safety and their corners have speed and halfway decent skills. Add to that their pass rush and it's not hard to see why even the might David Carr could only throw for 37 yards vs. them. On paper, the Raiders give up yards on the run...That better be the case Sunday or the Bengals could have a real dogfight on their hands that goes all the way down to the wire. The Texans scored 23 yesterday but only 3 was really on the D, not that the Texans will be confused with the Bengals offense, but the Raider D is fast and furious. Points are all that matters but time and time again stats never tell the whole story...That pretty much only comes by paying attention to what unfolds on the field.true but for every bit that there defense plays well, there offense is just as bad... membengal Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 Raiders defense is good...but Bengals' offense is equally as good. Add in that Oakland will be unfamiliar with Cincy's approach (no familairity help like they got when they played division foe San Diego) and I like the Bengals's chances to get their usual 27+points.I like Oakland's chances of matching that MUCH less. HoosierCat Posted December 4, 2006 Author Report Posted December 4, 2006 Some of your playoff seeding scenario is correct but partly flawed.Yes, I know. If you would have gone and read two posts later you'd have seen where I fixed it and saved yourself a lot of typing. But thanks anyhow.Looks like all the sports sites have the seeding right now (except of course for Curnutte...). Quote
TJJackson Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 'course, 5th seed plays (as it now stands) @ New England and 6th plays @ Baltimore.I'm not sure I like our chances of advancing better in one over the other.Of course we'd all get greater personal satisfaction from beating Baltimore :-) Quote
Tasher Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 Everybody continue to say your prayers!Whoo Hooo! Quote
HoosierCat Posted December 4, 2006 Author Report Posted December 4, 2006 One follow-up to the Seatle-Denver game: looks like Al Wilson will be OK:http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/9849349Bad news for us in that the Denver D is better with him than without, but of course that's an insignificant consideration next to the fact he's OK. You never want to see that green cart come out... Quote
Ox Posted December 5, 2006 Report Posted December 5, 2006 Damn this was a good week of football! Got a little rowdy at the game, but other than that couldn't have been happier watching ball sunday. Here's to another good one this sunday. Quote
