ShulaSteakhouse
a moderate value pick...with BIG character/immaturity issues...great.For a 5th rounder I think his value is more than "moderate." He would be a day one pick (possibly as high as mid-to-high 2nd round) w/o the bad streak of arrests.Um, I'm assuming he's not guilty of rape or sexual assault. I don't know the circumstances behind what happened, but I WILL have a hard time rooting for a rapist or someone who assaults women. Not my thing. Whur CHad At?
Very slow player with major character issuesI don't think Marvin is at the helm anymoreAnother F pickSorry TJ, I am sorry he didnt run a 4.2 40. Sorry he didnt meet your "If he doesn't run a good 40 time, then he is a bad player, totally disregarding what he did on the field" The guy had 266 career tackles, that is pretty damn good. Stop judging people on their 40 times, that is incredibly lame.
Folz
IM sorry but i hate TJJackson. I know that this board isn't to bitch about stuff, but come on! Are you really a steelers fan trying to piss all of us off?
Stripes
Character issues don't matter much to me in the case of a 5th round pick (unless they are extreme to a rediculous extent a la Marcus Vick). I don't care about this guy's 40 time either. That really means absolutely nothing to me, and it never does. This is a good pick from a college production standpoint. This guy led a great FSU defense in tackles.
kingwilly
jonathan scott would be, in my book, a HIGH-value pick...AJ is a moderate value pick. The character isses are HUGE to me....have we learned nothing from the CH pick!!!!!this draft is an F- so far...................pathetic..but after sleeping on it...I'm coming around on the JJ pick!!!! WHODAT!!!..uh, I mean, WHODEY!!!!

Stop judging people on their 40 times, that is incredibly lame.Yep, 266 tackles against much slower college players.Clue for you - you have to be fast enough to get within reach of a ball carrier in order to tackle them. Mr Nicholson might have a bit of a problem with that. And then there's that whole covering tight ends and running backs out of the backfield thing. Need some foot speed there too

TJJackson
IM sorry but i hate TJJackson. I know that this board isn't to bitch about stuff, but come on! Are you really a steelers fan trying to piss all of us off?Ah, yes. I disagree with you and therefore should not be permitted to express my opinion in a forum that is expressly designed to allow people to express their opinion.Try to understand that the whole reason I am pissed off is because I AM a Bengals fan and want them to draft as well as possible. When I see them (in my opinion) not drafting as well as possible, I don't like it, and will express my opinion as such. Please review my opinion stated in the r1 pick thread about JJ. It's an OK pick, not great, not bad either, and I said so. You may also find written evidence, if you bother to look, that I was pleased the Steelers gave up so much to the Giants to get their first pickBeing a Bengals fan is not about praising every move they make. They make good moves, they make bad moves. My opinions here over time reflect that.

Mr Micholson might have a bit f a problem with that. And then there's that whole covering tight ends and running backs out of the backfield. Need some foot speed there tooWe're talking about a FIFTH ROUND pick here. That's why it's a high value pick also - whenever you can get a potential starter in that round you have a high value (and in this case high risk as well) pick IMO.Before his off field troubles he was one of the top LB's in college ball and led arguably the best LB corps in the country. He had a 100 tackles last year (among other production) and led his team to the OJ bowl. He's a run stopper who can play in traffic and hold his own at the LOS, beyond Landon here there's no potential backups worth a damn if someone gets hurt.I will trust the rape case has been settled or that Marvin and Co. are satisfied with the details or outcome that clears his name to whatever extent. I don't know. He's 250 freakin' pounds and only 6'1" - a 4.7-4.8 40" is not "bad" for someone that size. Most LB's of that caliber run a 4.6 at best.I just don't know what some of you guys expect in the fifth round - they're not always going to pick your favorite no-name guys. It's futile to try and predict players with late picks in every round.

Kazkal
Hate to bring up the 3-4 thing again, but I think theres no doubt we're going to incorporate more and more each season we add the right players. Peko is said to be a potential 3-4 nose, and now we added another potentially solid, big, hard-hitting LB....too bad we didnt get Lawson.Well, just looking at the last 3 picks, I'm pretty sure that some 3-4 will eventually be incorporated this season.Frostee's ideal fit is as a 3-4 rush end.Peko's ideal fit is as a 3-4 nose tackle.A.J.'s ideal fit is as a 3-4 inside linebacker.I've always been against the move to a 3-4, but with every pick it's looking more likely. I don't think that we'll see a full-time move to the 3-4, but I think Marvin is acquiringg players that fit well in the 3-4, so that the team has the flexibility to run it if they so choose. Here I thought every pick was for team needed defense Frostee can be 3-4 rush end or a 4-3 endPeko can be 3-4 nose or 4-3 tackle AJ is dpeth nothing more for 3-4 or 4-

TJJackson
I think you will find that TJJ has had a big hate on for marvin ever since he cut his avatar and fav player Nah.Something happened in that locker room with Carl Powell that severely disrupted team chemistry. No idea what really happened, and will probably never know. In any case, he was having a bad season and as a high emotions guy, he let it get to him. Sad, but true.I wish the incident hadn't happened, but I understand (without knowing the details) why Marvin let him goTJJ you have the right to express your opinion, but im still going to express that i think you are a dbag.Ah.I speak negatively about a football matter in a forum about footballYou then speak negatively about me in a forum about football HmmWho's on topic? HoosierCat
Sounds like a good pick to me. Don't know any more than I've read here about the guy, but it sounds like the Bengals threw a fifth at a high (character) risk/high talent type. If he implodes like Tremain Mack, BFD, he was a fifth round pick. If he pulls his head out of his a$$, he may very well be a huge steal.
