With young productive FA backs signing for 4-6M this offseason..... https://sports.yahoo.com/how-concern-about-insulting-ezekiel-elliott-led-to-his-cowboys-release-214531546.html .....I'd expect Elliot to sign for about 2M plus a performance incentives, with little or no guaranteed money He might choose to retire rather than beat up his body more at that rate You and I would jump without hesitation to grab 2M, but you and I havent banked the millions Elliot already has

Thank you mem I am hoping for a role player at this spot who is a good blocker, good receiver, good ball security, is mostly available, and at a reasonable price doesnt have to be a great runner, which at this point in his carrier I dont think he is
-
Thank you both for answering the Zeke passblocking question My knowledge of him is limited to him being a great runner, albeit this was many years ago......so to me, I dont see him as any real value as a runner and as such wanted to know if he can bring passblocking value. How is his hands and ball security? Mind you: I think he will want starter money and I dont see him as a starter, just a role player, so I dont see him signing. Then again, maybe he has accepted that he isnt the player he once was and will take role player money. we'll see. Our coach seems sorta dismissive of him.

Can Zeke passblock?

Hate Thursday night games H A T E

I see it differently - ie, I dont think the team has enough confidence in the existing 2nd string DEs and DTs, and as such arent rotating them in as much as they should. so from my point of view, better pass rushing depth is needed
-
no doubt that he can help, when he is healthy his health is key
-
this as long as it is a vetmin contract with performance incentives, I dont see any problem with adding him back to the roster he knows the offense and provides some continuity I get the use of the word "suck" here Army, but I doubt any other vetmin guy we'd sign would exceed the "suck" level either. so gimme a guy who knows the offense and is good for the locker room at that same price and probable same performance level I say all this on the assumption that he has recovered from the injury he sustained early last year......but I dont honestly know if he has or not. Mr Google didnt know either, but said that he passed out toys at a hospital in December, so I'd guess he is good to go full by now

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS a pass rushing 3TDT
-
Good chance we got a New Guy discount, then I hope we get contract details soon
-
if he can remain healthy, yeah here's to hoping his contract is incentivized primarily on health it does sounds like me might have gotten a New Guy discount here, but we wont know til we see contract details
-
another oft-injured guy.........well, he should be good as long as he stays healthy hopefully he'll be able to do that here
-
wait.....do you know the muffin man? you had him pressure wash your sidewalk, didnt you,,,,,,,
-
Not being sour at all, actually a player with bigtime injury history like this should get a contract that provides incentives for health I'd still like to sign both Apple and Flowers even after this signing
-
hopefully it is a vetmin contract with incentives for starting or playing time

possibly the worst mock I've seen https://www.cincyjungle.com/2023/3/27/23653028/bengals-mock-draft-jonah-williams-trade-jags-picks-2023-jaguars

we do at least know that Captain America can catch now if he can block........

the first bag of crack is free bags after that, tho.......

Yeah, it has to be a reduction, not moving money into future years. I think 7-8M is still not enough of a reduction, but yeah, that'd still help I suppose I would prefer this option over the others if the money was around 5.5M plus performance incentives (that would optimally include some measure of successful pass blocking) maxxing at perhaps 2-3M, but honestly I dont think Mixon would accept even a dollar being cut from his pay But....would you make the new pay-cut replacement contract a one year contract to replace the two years he has remaining as things stand, or do a 2 year contract @ 7M per year?
-
so if I have this right, Option 1: we keep him. The cost of RB1 is 12.7M Option 2: we toss him. The cost of RB1 is new RB cost plus 5.5 M, which means that if said new RB1 costs 7.2M or more, our costs actually go up Option 3, we toss him with a June 1 release designation. The 5.5M dead money hit is evenly divided between 2023 and 2024, at 2.75M each Is there an option 4? I dont see a trade as even remotely possible. I guess I prefer Option 3 I would like to see them bring in a veteran RB who can catch and block, and of course, no matter what option they go with. I really dont want to draft a RB high unless some absolute superstar falls to us in r3 or later, but even then I'd prefer a 3 down TE.
