  1. this may be nitpicking on my part, but Im gonna say it anyway The folks running the jumbotron have several different displays that encourage the fans to get louder This is fine and good and all, no issues with it per se the problem is their timing almost always on first down or during timeouts, which is the worst possible time to use these You want crowd noise mainly on 3rd down, 4th down, and on x and goal plays Dont wear out the available crowd noise on 1st down. Please. Its just stupid. People can only yell/scream so much before their throats give out. its a limited resource. Use it wisely, at the correct times, and by doing so, teach your fans to do it at he right times yes it was a preseason game, but even in preseason its good to train the crowd to supply needed crowd noise when it is needed the most the jumbotron actually had to display a message at least one reminding the crowd that we are on offense, so be quiet our fans dont seem to understand their "12th man" role, and the folks running the jumbotron should try to educate them so that home field advantage really and truly is an advantage
  2. Boy oh boy how pissed I would have been at the decision to go for a TD instead of a fg in the last minute trailing 14-17 if this had been a real game but preseason, I get it. Put your potential backup players in a high stress situation and see how they react It was a short distance and you already know Money Mac would have gotten it the 3 here, so use the downs to learn something about your backups all good I was kinda surprised that they were playing 7th stringers in the 1st quarter. Lots of Shedrick Jackson. Kendrick Pryor, and and Kwame Lassiter rather early on. Jake should have been given a lot more second stringers to work with like Andre. Then again, we already know what we have in Jake. Hes locked in as QB2. so what could your bubble-level WRs do with a solid QB throwing to them? Not a lot, it appears. Get well soon, Chuck Sizzle. and FO? Fucking sign WR1 N O W. I do mean N O W. do it you worthless farks. Didnt like seeing Trenton Irwin returning punts. We know what he can do there already, which is meh. Give someone else a shot. I didnt see Burton til 4th quarter, and he played like a r1 pick when he did come on I was shocked to see Chris Evans in so much. I thought he was in the doghouse Dax Hill looked really sharp in his new role. He's a ballhawk. Loved to see it. I didnt watch the OL closely because I was talking to my kid too much. A worthy trade I would do it again if given a re-do, Player to watch next week: DT Travis Bell. Not just because wea re thin at DT right now, but he has himself a resume-making game
  3. I attended thanks to tickets donated by mem :-) much appreciated mem :-) The Jermaine TD was a great moment This Josh Newton fellow looks like a keeper My eldest daughter went with me....this was her first Bengals game, and she seemed to follow along after I explained to her all the basics. at the end pf the game, she even asked my why they went for the TD instead of the FG that would have tied it, so she had a pretty good grasp by end of game I had my first stadium beer ever, so scratch that one off the old bucket list - basically a 2 dollar draft for 12 dollars
  4. Chuck Sizzle carted off Who is our KR/PR if he misses time? Depth chart says Irwin, and I like Irwin a lot as a sure handed possession receiver, but he's shown nothing as a KR/PR
  5. Stripes, why isnt Reggie on that team as the gunner? look to the left
  6. On an incentive-laden contract, would be a good idea
  7. "it always has been this way" does not mean it always has to be this way Hopefully, he dies soon
  8. he spoke at the luncheon and did more damage with his "willy nilly" statement
  9. while I get all that to an extent, someone in such a state should remove themselves from roles like GM of an NFL football team and then they can spout off willy nilly at their leisure without bringing down the team like he does on the daily
  10. not sure which I hate more, politicians or lawyers I think SoaG tips the scales towards lawyers
  11. Bengals sign Hakeem Butler, Ryan Rehkow, and Nate Brooks (msn.com) Butler (WR) has a really nice RAS, great speed to size ration. the punter (Rehkow) signing is puzzling.....are they not getting good results from Robbins or the new highly touted UDCFA? Rehkow is a 25 year old rookie 2024 UDCFA who had a cup of coffee with the Chiefs before they released him about a month ago also Burrow practiced punting today. WTF dude. How many punters we need? :-)
  12. apparently he was named all-UFL for 2024 as well, for whats that worth depth is good I am guessing the 5th round corner isnt wowing them quite enough little concerned about this guy;s speed.....draft profile says 4.62 40, which is slow for a safety, not to mention a corner
  13. The only shocking aspect of all of this is that you havent yet used your comic genius to work "willy nilly" into the discussion yet I'm gonna ask a certain pro golfer to come over and check on you, and bring you a jamocha shake
  14. Gotta love it when a vehicle gives its life for the team
  15. but the rules say no one shoots the medic, right?
  16. Dont you have to be a certain height to be in the Army? Just like being able to ride certain amusement park rides
  17. while I definitely do see the silver lining in Trent Brown being NFI'ed the day before training camp starts ......ie Mims get starter snaps, which he absolutely needs..... I am starting to get worried that Trent is a bust in the making for us.....he didnt show for OTAs after collecting a big check and now is in essence a no show for training camp (although he is there, just not practicing, hopefully helping to groom the rook) We need both guys healthy and good to go for game 1 because both of them have had health issues their entire career thus far. anyone heard any word on when Trent Brown is expected to be taken off the NFI list or what the NFI issue is?
  18. cant open facebook pages
  19. T H I S a thousand and one times this
  20. Mike is a piece of shit, basically. Dont expect logical decisions. Expect decisions that put an extra dollar in his pocket, or avoid him having to spend said dollar you know, like having an F rated nutrition/meals group for a group of folks whose body condition is a huge factor in their success (or lack thereof) hold on, I'll be back after I deliver a case of gatorade over to one of the defensive backs
  21. I hate fully guaranteed contracts, btw.......a players health is never guaranteed, especially this guy
  22. its done i'd bet an arbys italian sub and a large order of potato cakes that one of the hangups was he wanted to get his signing bonus to a full 8
  23. NFL gonna have to work with NFLPA again to tighten down rookie contracts a bit more Its good that very few rookies - just 2 right now in the whole league - are unsigned But Mims D E S P E R A T E L Y needs snaps
  24. he always has, and always will death cannot come too soon
