Mike Brown thought he had a transcendent QB at 3 with whoever fell Couch, McNabb, and Akili.    Mocked for staying put.  Everyone forgets that today.   It was such a train wreck.

The scouting is the key.     Mahomes and Jackson currently represent a ton of paid NFL personnel guys getting it wrong.

I have no idea IF Burrow will be transcendent or not.   He looks the part to me.     So yeah, if that's what they see.   Then don't mess around a super QB changes things quickly.     It's easier said than done.    There's some risk involved and KC and the Ravens played it right.

KC was mocked by some for taking a gimmick air raid QB over Watson.  Ravens traded back twice before trading back up for Jackson.   That kinda tells you they didn't think he was worth a pick in the 20s but became worth as he approached the 30s and 2nd round.    Crazy.

Nothing is 100% certain. But I am 100% certain you have to TRY for a transcendant QB if you think a guy is there that might be. That's Burrow. Trading back is dumb.

Here, by the way, was 49ers GM John Lynch begging his coach to call a timeout at the end of the first half rather than bleed 40 seconds off (and then run two running plays). You know why Shanahan did that? Because he didn't trust his QB. You can build the perfect team, but in big spots, if you don't trust your QB, you are still short. And I don't remotely trust the Bengals to build a perfect team around a caretaker QB. Too much can go wrong. You take Burrow. 100 times out of 100.
