Bengals at Denver Game Thread (9/17/11)

Fingers crossed, a win would be almost unspeakably awesome relevant to expectations to start the year.

On a side note, new guy covering AFC North blogs for ESPN claims a specialist put strength in Dalton's wrist at 20% at some point this week.

Which makes next to no sense to me, if it were true, no way is he full go for Friday's practice or listed as probable.

I guess we shall see.

I must be slipping. You mean they lost the game when Dillon ran for 600 yards? That was in Denver and I thought they won.

Today will be Dunlaps big game, a la Odom in 2009 v GB. I look for Dunlap to have 5 or 6 sacks.

I also think Bernard Scott is used in many more true West Coast plays, similar to Ray Rice or LeRon McClain. Lots of dunk passes that go for 15-25 yard chunks.

I'm looking forward to this game, a great opportunity to kick-on from last weeks success. Yeah sure the Bronco's are missing some players and will have an under-par side out there but hey you can only play what's put in front of you.

Going 2-0 would be almost surreal, but I'm not expecting too much from this season at all so I'll be glad to see some glimmers of what will be in the future - some nice drives controlling the clock, a strong D performance, a cheeky play or two for some decent yardage, and a solid special teams display would make me a happy haggis hunter!

Yea i dont understand this either, if Dalton was that bad Marvin would not have him playing today, or he would have not practied at all this week. I dont get it!

Anything to do with only having two QB's on the roster??

Crapola !! Settled down with a couple of cool ciders, all ready to do battle with the footy-streamlink-gods and GRRRRRRR! Can't get any "channels"!

Then I realise I'm 2 hours too early! Damn those internal timezones of you yanks!! :frustrated:

Heck - now I've got me 120minutes of drinking BEFORE the match even kicks off. This could be a messy evening.......

Dalton's wrist at 20%?

Andy Dalton is expected to start at Denver, but there's a question of how effective the Bengals rookie quarterback will be.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Dalton's injured right wrist graded out at 20 percent strength when he visited a specialist. Dalton, a second-round draft pick, is listed as probable.

That doesn't sound promising.

Who knows but everyone said when Dalton was throwing he was looking good, and had good zip on the ball. If thats the case then only being 20% would mean he would have no strength to throw the ball! They better not play him if this is true, or maybe they are just making things up so they have something to talk about when talking bengals.

http://www.bengals.com/team/injuryreport.html

According to Bengals.com Dalton is classified as "probable" with a 75% chance to play, took part in a full practice on Fri.

I reckon this could be a story/report based on Daltons staus earlier in the week. Probably a slow news day in relation to the Bengals.

So Hobson is saying that Dalton is warming up freely, and catching the ball when its being thrown back. He said the bengals are not concerned about his strength with the wrist injury. So not really sure whats going on.

He also said it sounds like the only injured Bronco that has a chance in playing is Brandon Lloyd with his groin injury. Not sure who is playing yet guess we will see.

I agree i say run it about 40 times at least with all 3 running backs, and then play good physical defense with no blown coverages or no mental or stupid mistakes. Lets go bengals

Ok now Lloyd is out, plus Moreno so looks like everyone for the broncos that did practice is not playing.

Geathers is out today, and Fanene looks to get the start there! Guess they are not ready for Dunlap to start yet. Also the new TE Donald Lee is not active, so i guess 2 tight end sets again.
