BengalChamps Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 Even though it would be unlikely that CP would be back for the first game, I wouldn't mind starting the season off against the Squeelers. Many teams of late who play in the Super Bowl, win or lose, seemed to still be emotionally drained at the start of the next season. It would also sharpen and intensify off-season workouts and training camp. Definately appealing to the networks for a national audience. Quote
Ox Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 No, our first game will be sometime around the 4th or 5th of the season, on a Monday night. Write that one down baby. Quote

Whur CHad At? Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 I want it in Cincy.Payback. Quote
BigBenBlows Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 It don't really matter to me when we play them, we'll beat them. Home game or away doesn't matter. Quote
CBin2k7 Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 I really think there is a good chance that the networks decide they want to see Pitt-Cincy open the season. But I could also see us opening with NE, INDY or SD. Quote
buck3y3d Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 It will be a Sunday nighter. NBC will want the game, and this will probably be considered the bigger event next year. Quote
BengalChamps Posted February 6, 2006 Author Report Posted February 6, 2006 I still think Bengals vs. Squeelers will be the first game of the year. It will be marketed as the Super Bowl champ vs. the last team to beat them. That will be a great day to be a Bengal Fan! Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Either way, whenever we play them, we will beat the crap out of them...PAYBACK TIME BOYS! FOR US AND THE SEAHAWKS! Quote

Dan2330 Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 First game for the Steelers is probably going to be either the Thursday night kickoff game or the Monday Night Game. NFL seems to have this thing about starting the Super Bowl teams off in primetime for next seasons opener. Not sure of the Steelers teams they play next year (and not really wanting to go look it up on their pathetic web site) but my guess would be the Thursday night game someone big (like INDY) at the Steelers and the Monday Night Game will be Seattle on the road.
