I've never been a big fan of moving up in the draft, but if the draft was really falling this way I'd be tempted to attempt moving up a few slots for Kiwanuka. Wouldn't cost much for a move like that and if you were satisfied that Kiwi fits the system, and is physically sound, a DE with his pass rush skills would provide more bang for the buck than Wroten. Plus, he be a perfect bookend for Smith OR a possible replacement if the plan includes letting Smith leave after this season.

I am noting certain tendency not unlike QBs from Cal: DTs from LSU. They draft high, and production never comes close to collegiate.

I think for this reason and some others, I'd pass on Wroten in Round 1.

To be honest, I've never really noticed that. Do you have any other examples?

This years draft, overall is not a deep draft. While there are a couple of positions (TE, OL) that go pretty deep, it is pretty poor overall.

I suspect that Marv will try to take fewer players out of this draft and target pretty specific ranges to pick in to get the players he wants.

1st round either safety or DT, pick in the 10-20 range (Huff, Bing, Ngata, Wright) (BUT, I think that the DTs besides Nagata are going to slip pretty far).

2nd, probably stay put and get the slipping DTs or possibly a CB

3rd (given away with 1st round to move up in 1st)

4th DT, TE, or CB (could move up here with 4th/5th or 4th/6th combination)

:bangin:

Nice to see that Kiper expects the Buckeyes to produce five first round picks, tied for the most in college football with the Trojans.

OSU Usually does have most first round picks each year....

PS: I think we should draft Chad Jackson to go along with Chad Johnson and really mess with people's heads by giving Chris Henry a new Number and giving Chad Jackson the #15!
