schnarfer
I dibt know about any of you out there, but I am still having the bad dreams and the what if's like a disease..Am I the only ones taking the events of the last week too hard ? Holy Sh1t..could we have lost in a more horrible way? I am already to start going into my bengals withdrawls and post-season depression...I think it is the same feeling that woman going through menapause...there's just somthing wrong...Am I alone? BengalPappaw
No! You are not alone. I still have concerns about the long term picture.I remember the heartbreak when Greg Cook, who was finally going to get the Bengals back on top, blew out his knee playing basketball. My fear is that the injury causes Carson to change his passing motion and then damages his arm -- or since, this is the second time Carson has hurt that knee -- he may get antsy in the pocket and rushes his passes. This is even more reason to make sure we built and maintain a good, solid offensive line -- lets keep Carson safe and secure in the pocket. bengals4ever
Same here also. I think until we see CP in a game and throwing passes we are going to have doubts. I believe Carson is a tough person with a strong drive. Those things can not be measured. I am a strong believer in desire and drive and how much a person wants things. I believe CP will be back. It was just sad to see the injury happen in the game that it did happen in. For myself, and for many I feel, this was the Super Bowl for them. Now we have to live with squeeler fans smacking all year. Get well Carson.
ArmyBengal
Doesn't sting anymore, but now everywhere I go with my Bengals gear on, someone says, "To bad about Palmer, he'll be back next year." There was a guard checking ID's at the gate yesterday and saw my Bengals shirt and stated he was a Steelers fan and how he thought the hit was questionable, but he was looking forward to many years of Palmer and Rottenfurberger going at it. I'm an optimist, so I'm thinking all will be OK with Palmer and am looking at the players we can draft in April... Can't be pissed forever, my anger doesn't translate to what the players do on the field, so oh well...WHODEY !!!
walzav29
I too am still a tortured soul. I kind of thought that the Bengals D was to soft to do it this year, and I was looking forward to an off-season where we put the final pieces in. Now I'm just worried about Palmer. I would like to punch that doctor for saying that it is a career ender. That's all I ca nread about. It doesn't matter if it's true or not. We won't know for sure until he's back and it will be in our heads every time he gets hit. I still think of Terrel Davis and Jamal from Atlanta. They are talking about Palmer's knee right now on Sirius.
Ripper
I still wake up crying some nights. Waited fifteen years for this and the second f'n play ! Was at work when the ESPN report came in and seen " devastating, scale of 1 to 3 it was a 4, and career ending" I shed a tear for some reason. Being a realist it's going to be a tough road to the playoffs next year. WHODEY !
walzav29
The #1 thing that bugs me is the lack of faith in Palmer's return. Culpepper has 3 torn ligamants and I have not heard 1 thing about him not returning.
bengalboomer7
When it comes to Carson I'm worried we just inherited the next Drew Bledsoe statue.

OregonBengalFan
Well this is my first post on here, though I've been reading these for ahwhile. Yes there is a lot of questions out there in regards to Carson. I work in the medical field (I am no Doctor) but I do have a lot of confidence in todays medical technology. 15 years ago there is no doubt that Carson would be finished, Today his injury is a routine fix in the medical world, and you can be sure that carson is getting the best of the best medically. As to Carson playing "scarred" next year, or playing at a lower level? I think personally Carson will come back stronger and better, because he wants to show everyone that He and the BENGALS are for real and are a team to be reckoned with. Carson will make believers of all the sceptics next year and it is going to be a real motivator for the rest of the team!WHO DEY!!!!

membengal
Yes, it still stings. And it really won't stop stinging until we all see Carson take his first few hits early next season while still throwing the ball like we all have grown accustomed to.It's not the loss, it was the Palmer injury and all the s**t that ensued because of it that really hurts. Stripes
Nah, it doesn't really sting anymore. Almost a week has gone by. It has just built a new anxiety for next year and excitement for all the Steeler butt-kicking that shall commence accordingly.
HairOnFire
Yeah, it still stings. How could it do otherwise when you consider how things have played out. We've gone from fearing the worst in regards to Palmer's injury, to being told it wasn't as bad as it looked, to being told it was a 4 on the 3 scale of misery. Just when you think you've accepted the outcome you're dealt a different scenario....often by the same goofy doctor. It sorta feels like we're riding in the front car on the roller coaster of misery. Now factor in the daily updates on the he-said-she-said rumor about the meltdown in the trainers room. From the standpoint of dealing with something directly and then moving on you have to give the Bengals a very low grade on this one. It's not going away....just grinding along on a daily basis. As for the playoff loss, the far more important worries regarding the long term impact of Palmer's injury made that one easy for me to take even before the final whistle blew. That said, it's hard to move on completely due to the parade of Steeler trolls making their way to this board to offer their feigned sympathy in response to Palmer's injury....and then sticking around to be entertained by our collective misery. Frankly, playoff losses always hurt, but losing to a team that has so many low class fans is a special kind of hell. So yeah, still stinging.
