Madieu Downgraded; TJ Hopeful

Not having Madeiu SUCKS. It's like the Ravens losing Ed Reed...it hurts.

Ohlate can't cover his own bed, and is nothing special as a blitzer either, he hasn't made one noticeable play on Sunday since he's been here I don't think. He's just not very good at all.

Just put Madeiu on the shelf for however long it takes and be done with it, before we have another Warrick situation on our hands.

I hope KK can come through again Sunday.

That's really a shame about Madieu. He makes that defensive secondary much better. I hope he makes into the lineup for our biggest game of the year yet.

I'm glad to hear Housh is doing better. I think that'll really help get some of those double teams off of Chad.

I couldn't agree more Baer. It seems like half of the team is questionable, mainly at LB. Maybe we could involve the slot and or the TE more to expoit that....

Doesn't sound promising with Madieu. :(

We need to get out to a quick lead to force them to pass. I don't think we can stop the run without Madieu. Thoughts??

Call me an idiot, but I think the Bengals are going to make an effort to stop the run. Big Ben may beat them with the pass, but I think Chucky & ML will come up with a plan to take Parker and the Bus away. I have been critical of KK, but even I admit he has played pretty well (against the pass mostly). I would just love to see Williams and Ohalete play at the same time, especially against a running team.

Even if Ward is ready to go, they will really miss RandleEl if he is still hurt. What a weird situation with all three of their WR banged up at the same time.

Yeah...here's one. We won't depend on the defensive backfield to stop the run if the defensive line promises not to try and stop the pass.

I want the saftey playing pass defense. You know. His JOB? If the linemen and linebackers do

their jobs, the saftey won't have to worry much about making frickin' open field tackles on ball carriers out of the backfield!

Like Marvin say's: Just Do Your Job!

Ohalete is not a great coverage guy... but he's very good against the run. It hurts not having Madieu back there... but if there are two teams in this league that it doesn't hurt as much against, it is Pittsburgh with unhealthy receivers, and Baltimore.

I'll bet it doesn't negatively impact the game all that terribly, unless Ward is playing well.

Ward was a game time decision for the San Diego game, but he was running around like he was crazy. Unless he tweaks it again, I bet he plays close to full speed.

from curnutte...bluto on crutches...sheesh...

Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh participated in early pass-catching drills this afternoon at practice.

The injury report was not yet available, but Houshmadzadeh had said at noon that he was going to “do more” at practice than at any time since injuring his right hand toward the end of the Houston game.

Tailback Rudi Johnson, who has missed the past four Wednesday practices, did participate in the early portions of today's practice. He has a sore knee.

Tight end Tony Stewart (back) was on the field in street clothes but did not participate.

Two players were not on the field: Safety Madieu Williams (shoulder) was not in the locker room and was believed to be out of town visiting his personal physician. Also, rookie center Eric Ghiaciuc was seen on crutches today during the open locker room period. He was added to the injury report Wednesday was questionable with an ankle injury.
