Rackers

I'm starting to wonder if Shayne will EVER miss an extra point. If anyone can find the record dor most consecutive converted attempts to start a career, that would be an interesting story to follow.

Hobson showed this stat once on Bengals.com... If Shayne finished this year at least as good as he has the last two seasons, then he will qualify in the record books as the third most accurate kicker IN NFL HISTORY.

Arizona kicker Neil Rackers hit four more field goals, giving him 26, with no misses, for the season.

He is certainly on fire. Making long ones too. But, I like Golden Graham's demeanor better. I like to think Shayne will be money when the game is on the line. Rackers developed a reputation for being a head case, but who knows if that is true or not. The psyche of a kicker can be a fragile thing.

Shayne Graham Stats

Niel Racker's Stats

http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/187627

Niel has 37 touchbacks in the last two years, Shayne has 2.

Niel, over the last two years has done considerably well kicking the ball.

Shayne struggled before he got here, but no one cares about this. Niel struggled before he got to Arizona and i'm sure no one cares out there. People in Arizona would definately take Rackers over Shayne, and it is absurd to think they wouldn't. By the way, Niel hasn't missed an extra point in three years, so i think you guys can stop worrying.

I don't miss Rackers, but he is a good kicker and i would not be sad if he played here.

Well said, I completely agree. Graham has done a fine job over-all, but Rackers is probably the best kicker in the game.

Letting him go was a mistake, pure and simple. But those things happen.

Get a grip people! They are both fine kickers without a doubt. Shayne is having a rough spell, but it will pass. It happens to all kickers.

Neil Rackers had a nasty one with the Bengals and ended up in Arizona because of it.

It matters not because I'm just as happy with Graham.

I liked Rackers, and always pulled for him while he was in Cincy, but no...

I'd take Graham any day.

In my book they're presently equally as good. I watched Neil Rackers during the Cardinals Training Camp here in Prescott Arizona where I live, and he never missed a kick that I saw, And I attended at least 10 practices.

Nobody ever questioned Rackers ability to do well in practice. In fact, I seem to remember him winning back his job in training camp after the team brought in a replacement (Wasn't that Richie Cunningham? Ironic, considering the who we have now).

What he did in the regular season is why he's not here. And I don't really see any reason to give him a third chance.

I am glad that Rackers found a home and his skill has come out. But this kind of looking back is silly. Not one person in this town wanted to keep him when he left. Too many misses (not all his fault, that field was awful). He needed a fresh start as much as the Bengals did.

I am thrilled with Graham. I am glad for Rackers. It worked out for everyone.

Well said. As the great Carl Pickens once said, "it's bridge under the water, now." Who cares. The Bengals went out and got a guy that has been among the leagues best kickers over the last two and a half years. This is Rackers break-out season and he has been in the league since 2000.

For all of the posters who keep bringing up these kind of things, maybe you guys should try to get a reunion going for the '02 team. You could invite, Rackers, Travis Dorsch, JoJuan Armour, Artrell Hawkins, Riall Johnson, Armegis Spearman and Reinard Wilson could be the guest speaker. He could regale the gang with what it was like to be 2-14.

Honestly, for every Corey Dillon, Neil Rackers or Mike Goff, there are two or three Sean Brewers. All of those guys are gone for a reason and many of them never played in the NFL again. In Marvin I trust.

Rackers DID / does have a cannon leg. Problem when he played here was that if he'd tried to crotch kick anybody ... he'd have probably broken their knee cap.

I'm glad he's overcome his problems, but he wasn't gotting it done when he was here. Kickers are on about the shortest leash of any position, and it doesn't take too many screw ups for them to be " former " players.

If we didn't have Graham ... I'd probably miss him ..... but we do .... so I don't. B)
