NJ29 Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 ...This defense makes plays, and has forced 15 turnovers in 3 games.. That's a season for some teams. The two complaints that I've heard so far are that there is a lack of a pass rush and run stopping. Neither will be a problem next week against a bad Houston O-Line, so let's enjoy this week and the turnover machine that is our Cincinnati Bengal D. Quote

Anyone who's a fan of the Bengals (which would make all of us) knows that we were a very opportunistic Defense last year.I'm honestly not suprised that the defense is causing......correction. I'm EXCITED as HELL that the Defense is causing THIS MANY TURNOVERS! Quote
nebengals Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Team W L T PCT PF PA Home Road AFC NFC DIV Streak Cincinnati 3 0 0 1.000 88 28 1-0 2-0 1-0 2-0 1-0 Won 3 28 points alowed in 3 games vs 88 points for .. defense is doing its job Quote
San Antonio Bengal Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Don't look now, but the Bengals D is allowing single digit points per game, 9.3. Yes there are still issues on the defense. Yes, we haven't faced the most stellar competition, but this was the team that allowed Cleveland to score 48 points in one game last season. Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. Quote

Stripes Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 I bet we're on pace to shatter whatever takeaway record is currently in place. This has been incredible, and it should only get better this week against the Texans. Good times are here and are a comin'! Quote

I have yet to hear one complaint from any BENGALS fans! My God, after the past defense's we have been forced to watch, these guy's are freakin' AWESOME! Quote
schweinhart Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Passing against the Bengals D is gluttony for punishment. O'Neal keeps getting tested and keeps coming up with one big play after another. Thurman has caught on real quick knowing where he supposed to be and getting there with no wasted time, plus knocking the sh*t outta anybody foolish enough to have the ball. Madieu sure looks like the best DB in the NFL to me. And B-Simmons and James are still getting the job done. The Bengals face the most versatile back they've seen this year next week in Dominack Davis but the way the D is swarming the field it's hard to imagine that the Texans won't meet the same fate as the last three losers. Fortunately, the Bengals seem to be focused (did ya catch Carson's postgame "3-0 isn't anything" comments? Marvin has these guys barking like trained seals! ) But no worries tonite! Quote

The_Next_Big_Thing Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Could it be when the Minnesota offense goes off in week 3 that the reason they didn't in week 2 vs. the Bengals is because our D is fo real!?! Yes, indeed it could! Quote
membengal Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Well, at this rate, they will have the best scoring defense in Bengals history (on pace to only allow 149 points, Bengals best ever effort is 285 points).Hell, at this rate, they would have the best scoring defense in NFL history.Really, the parallels in what ML accomplished with the Ravens D and what is underway here are startling.
