Fason was a good pickup...we're just desperate for a RB that can stay clean AND healthy.

I agree. The Vikes stole Fason for a 4th rd pick.

After getting 14 yds on 12 carries by Moe Williams and Michael Bennett, no doubt Vikes fans are frustrated by the RB sitch up there. I'll go out on a limb and say the Bengals give up more than that to the Vikes running game, but I'm thinking the Bengals should be better equipped to contain the Vikes runners than Cleveland's, who the Bengals D did a real nice job against.

Throw Fason in there and I'm not so sure. He's the kind of runner who would have a better chance of gashing the Bengals front 7 than the Vikes other 3 RBs.

I think it's funny that you guys are actually debating football with a guy named Mike Tice...mostly because if it's the Vikings head coach you'll probably be able to teach him a few things.

I for one would be happy to give Mike some pointers...all he has to do is slide a couple super bowl tickets my way and we're golden.

There is a guy on our board whose username is "MensaTice" and it shows a picture of Tice applauding something with a semi-retarded look on his face. Needless to say, not every Viking fan has a lot of love for Tice.

yeah, I was kinda surprised there were any of you with a love for Tice. I would think after the last few years where he coached with his hands firmly around his throat, the hatred of him wold be universal among the fan base....

Well Tice pisses me off a lot during the regular season but I will say this about him...he knows how to spot talent especially in the draft. The Vikings have consistently had solid drafts under Tice, even in the later rounds.

Agreed, when they get their picks in on time. ;):P

Well I wouldn't call Nate Burleson, Marcus Robinson, Travis Taylor, and TE Jermaine Wiggins "unproven receivers". Troy Williamson is the only unproven receiver on our team right now.

Then what exactly would you call an unproven receiver? There is not a team in this league that is scared of these receivers. The only people who like these guys are fantasy football nerds who expected Culpepper to put up the same kind of numbers he did last year.

I maintain that Culpepper is not as bad as he played on Sunday... but not nearly as good as he played last year. Moss gives every QB he plays with the opportunity to just throw desperation passes downfield, and come up with 40 yard completions. After a few years of that, everyone thinks Minnesota has a really great QB.

I'll give you that he is hard to tackle, and one of the more mobile QB's in the league. After that, I'll believe it when I see it. If he can throw for 3 TD's with these receivers against us, then I'll shut up. Until then, Burleson (who never had to be a #1 until this year), and a bunch of Baltimore Ravens rejects remain "unproven" in my book.

Nate Burleson is proven, when he has Moss on the field. Travis Taylor is a proven BAD receiver, Marcus Robinson is simply unproven, and Jermaine Wiggins is a proven talent, but not producer.

This receiving corps could prove solid in the long run, but they are still adjusting to life withoutt Moss. It is very fortunate that we get to play them so early in the season.

in the Spirit of Chang Lim-Bang, and even though i don't have a political prisoner tied to a chair, ill throw in a Enviromental wacko pick

Bengals-Tigers an endangered species, ferocious yet majestic in nature +21

Vikings-Ultra white scandinavians who spread rape and pillage across Europe, Asia, and even against the majestic Native Americans +20

clearly the majestic Bengals win this one over the Vikings at home in a stadium known as the jungle 21-20 +3 for an enviromentally linked stadium the result becomes

24-20 Bengals.

Its all in good fun no offense to anyone, just the forum was becoming way to serious on page 3

Though My buddy Big Willie Franklin and I will both be there being loud for the majestic Bengals! :player:

Well when your owner is Red McCombs, then some credit must go Tice's way. I don't know whether or not Tice has any control over personnel decisions, but I'm sure McCombs did.

And...well...McCombs was no good.

Speaking of powners, here's some great news for Vikes fans...

Vikings | Wilf to be More Involved with Club?Tue, 13 Sep 2005 09:26:49 -0700

Kevin Seifert, of the Minnesota Star-Tribune, reports Minnesota Vikings owner Zygi Wilf plans to become more involved with the product on the field to ensure things are run smoothly. "I have to be active," Wilf said. "No, I'm not going to call the plays. But I'm going to go ahead and make sure that the right people do the right things. I think it's very important that the message is out that the person on the top is watching over them, making sure everything is done right. We're going to try to strive for excellence. I'll try to figure out what it will take for us to be the champs."

every one is worried about our pass defence? the only reason the browns had any success in the pass is we stacked the box with anticipation of a heavy dose of run, which the vikes just don't have. that means we will be focused on the pass for minn.

also i predict fumblepepper will turn the ball over at least 3 times.

Hopefully the pass defense was just a bit jittery with the seasons 1st game. Calm them down, and I think they'll steadily improve all the way through to the Super Bowl! :player:

reminds me of my favorite Mel Brooks movie

Hes a Eunic... Hes a Eunic... Hes Dead...

Got to figure out what Francois Hotman was talking about in Francogallia, theodore Beza was in Right of Magistrates, and Philippe du Plessis-Mornay was in Vindiciae Contra Tyrannos. At least their in english rather than french!

You guys think you can get Big Orange to say alittle something to the guy upstairs for me?

Don't expect to see the same team that played last sunday. I don't think anybody believes Culpepper is that bad (rated 31 out 32 for QBS).

The difficulties were in the OLine and Tice not getting the rookie out when he should have. Once Goldberg (vet) came in things settled down and Culpepper started to pass very good again and racked up the passing yardage. Tice hinted at having Culpepper roll out more and stay in the shotgun until we solve the oline problems.

Culpepper threw for 2 TDs that were called back. The first one on Wiggins was a terrible call and replays showed it didn't happen but you can't challenge them, the second TD we were holding but not on anybody near Culpepper so it wasn't anything that helped culpepper make or not make the TD. plus we were driving for the win (after our rookie RT was taken out). the last interception that ended that was a accurate pass by culpepper, Moe williams didn't hang on and it was tipped into the defenders hands.

This had nothing to do with Moss not being here. When we put our rookie Troy Williamson in at the end, tampa doubled him all the time (just like moss). Plus we have Robinson now to our WR corps and will play Sunday.

The stats were skewed on Cadillac also, we held him to 68 yards (2.9 yards a carry) and only on the 3 and 1 where we were trying to prevednt the 1st down (almost a goalline defense) did he get away. He was average for a RB. but those yards go against the rundefense stats. just like dilfers "garbage yards" against you guys.
