BengalBax
Ok we go to Tennessee Sunday. Chris Brown has turf toe, and McNair has a hematoma (ouch) They have a bye week following our game against them, so even if they CAN play, what's the chances of Fisher thinking "Its the Bengals" and benching them both?? This could be the twist of luck we need. Thoughts?
TippCityRick
Awful positive post, Bax (I mean if you exclude your jubilation over a couple of nasty injuries).
skyline
I guarantee you that Fisher isn't thinking "It's the Bengals". We nearly always give them a good game...
Scottishbengal
I don't think there's a match in the entire league when one team underestimates it's opponent to the extent of resting players "cos it's only the Bengals" or whoever. Both teams appear to be banged up.I just hope there isn't a case of after the lord mayors show for the Bengals. Bobcat Bengal
I guarantee you that Fisher isn't thinking "It's the Bengals". We nearly always give them a good game... He sure as HELL isn't thinking that anymore, not after what he saw on Monday Night.
ackley1
Mcnair will play. He gets hurt every week and yet he still plays. He's a tough SOB!
ShulaSteakhouse
McNair also misses his share of games and is a notorious Bengal-killer. (then again the Bengals finally have a real set of defensive backs)If he's out Sunday that's huge. The Bengals NEED a win on the road badly and this may be one of the last good opp's to get one this year.
skyline
I don't think Steve will play this week...just a hunch from a Nashvillian. This injury has been nagging him for a while, and the only way to get rid of a nagging injury is with rest. I think they'll take advantage of the bye week, and use it to rest him two straight weeks. Volek is a very capable quarterback, and paired with Brown will still make for a very tough Titans offense.
ackley1
Yes they do. We need to keep playing with the intensity we played with last night. :player:
CTBengalsFan
McNair said that his injury wouldn't get better if he kept playing, so I really don't think he'll be playing this week.
membengal
More local flavor: Brown's toe is pretty bad, he will not practice all week and will, if he can play, be somewhat hobbled.Antowain Smith and Robert Holcombe are the Titan back-ups. Bengal_Smoov
McNair needs to rest before he seriously injured, and Chris Brown won't as effective as he has been in the past with this injury. The loss of Kearse & Smith has really hurt the normally stout Titans defense. We should be able to move the ball against them and hopefully shut them down on offense. If the players keep up the intensity of monday night we should win out for the year, seriously.
BengalByTheBay
McNair IMO won't play. He is definitely one tough player, but the shot he took was directly on his chest. I don't think they can afford to run him out again after a shot like that. If they had rested him last week he would've been able to go now. I don't think they'll make the same mistake two weeks in a row. That said, it really all depends on who shows up in orange & black. Any defensive backfield that gives up yards like they did to cleveland could easily lose to Billy Volek and a fired-up d that plays like they did last night could beat the Patriots. schweinhart
The Old Oilers are a considerable challenge for this one. They've lost 3 at home this year and the odds of them losing 4 straight at home are slim, especially after winning something like 12 of 13 home games before this year. But this year's Titans are nowehere near what last year's team was. Scottishbengal
Any defensive backfield that gives up yards like they did to cleveland could easily lose to Billy Volek Or even Billy Broome!
BengalszoneBilly
Or even Billy Broome! Oh geez. Obviously you've never seen me play! The newspaper article descriptions of "inept, pathetic, and awful" qualifies as GOOD scrapbook material in my case.
UKstripes
Don't forget that Shad Meier (spelling?) and Erron Kinney are both out too. The Titans have been playing backup O-linemen as the 2nd TE in their offense. IMHO we want Chris Brown to start but have to leave the game. It means he's not done well and it stops his replacement getting into a rythym (spelling?).
HoosierCat
Injuries suck. But that said, given how various breaks, bangs, and bruises have massively fouled up the Bengals' season, it's somehow appropriate that, now that they seem to be healing up and coming together, they get to work out their frustration on a dinged-up opponent. I think McNair will sit. Brown will likely at least give it a go -- and our run D still isn't anything to wrte home about. Even a hobbled Brown could limp his way past the hundred-yard mark. He needs to keep guys in there that will get him those wins.
schweinhart
Fisher's got a huge hole to dig his team out of. The season has turned to sh*t for them.McNair is good at not practicing all week then playing in form on Sunday. If McNair can breathe, he'll play because the next few games are like end of season games for them in a playoff run. 2 more losses and the Titans are toast for post-season.
