Stripes Posted Saturday at 01:22 AM Report Posted Saturday at 01:22 AM They’ve been promoting an orange-out this week (orange tops, white pants). That might have been a mistake. Quote

I honestly can't explain it anymore, it's extremely bizarre. My only guess is, and this probably doesn't even make sense, is that because burrow and the offense is such a timing based offense it takes a couple games to get into a rhythm. I don't get it tho Regardless I do think the Bengals and Burrow come out on fire and play to their real abilities, especially the passing game. Bengals 34 Jags 17 Reminds me a bit of (old school) Rivers era San Diego Chargers starting slow out of the gate. Bengals defense is looking better than advertised though, especially that secondary 1 Quote

Having watched Joe for several years now, my theory is this: unlike many if not most QBs — and honestly, a whole lot of people including me at times — Burrow isn’t defined by his job. What I mean is, have you ever met someone new and immediately you end up talking about what you do? Kind of exchanging cv’s and work stuff? We live in a capitalist society where a lot of our self worth is tied up in what we do, so it kind of comes naturally I guess. It’s what we value, and arguably that’s screwed up on a basic level, but that’s a conversation for another time. But Burrow? Once the season ends he’s off to Paris for fashion shows and stuff. He even walked a runway in a goofy out fit once. Football is this thing he does, and does well, but just for half the year. After that he does other stuff that interests him. That’s probably very healthy for him, but it means he has to sort of reload qb.exe every September, and that takes a week or two. Honestly I can’t fault the guy, as much as It frustrates me as a fan. 1 Quote

It's why I honestly didn't want burrow playing all these reps in the preseason risking injury. I didn't think it would make a difference although I understand why they tired it. And honestly they got the w and if they destroy the jags maybe there is something to it. It's just really weird. He reminds me so much of Brady and I believe he's the best. So it's just bizarre. The pats game last year was completely ridiculous. I remember the Allen game vs the jets opening night in 23. I swear I thought Allen did about 3 lines of coke before the game lmfao. That was absolutely brutal. Allen had a brutal game vs the jags in 21 losing 9-6 lol. It's not as surprising to me with Allen because he always will have a little variance and that devil on his shoulder. Burrow is extremely poised, on time, patient. So it's just more surprising to me when burrow is off like that. The burrow game I remember watching that was one of the best I've seen the past few years was vs the 49ers in 23. Absolutely a work of art from the QB position. 1 Quote

Bengals 34 Jags 17 I thought the reason for the slow start, offensively, was lack of reps in preseason, but after the reps this year it kind of tanked THAT to be the reason! Slow starts don’t seem to affect the Ravens or Steelers! Quote
Stripes Posted Saturday at 10:56 PM Report Posted Saturday at 10:56 PM Zac Taylor's gameplanning. He needs to see it before he knows what to do with it (i.e., any opposing defense to start a season). Quote
Stripes Posted Saturday at 11:12 PM Report Posted Saturday at 11:12 PM Bobcats vs. Buckeyes today. OU just held them on 4th down in the red zone. Probably doomed, but go Bobcats. 1 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted Sunday at 12:42 AM Report Posted Sunday at 12:42 AM There’s definitely something to the slow start. Hoosier’s thought is just as good as any other and is certainly more than feasible. The team just always starts flat. I feel that coach with a little Zimmer intensity is missing from the equation as well. Zac seems like that feel good kind of guy that isn’t in your face. Then again, maybe I’m old… 1 Quote
