That horror movie is way too scary for me to watch, looking forward to hearing about it though.

I liked it, but didn’t love it. Director Robert Eggers is known for “art house horror,” so think more atmospherics, costuming, cinematography, etc., and less jump scares and gore (tho there’s a touch of each there, too).

It’s a beautiful film to watch and the performances are excellent. But I wouldn’t really call it scary. Creepy might be closer. I think ultimately it suffers from being so familiar a story (it’s basically Dracula) that it’s hard to get immersed in it. But it’s still a fun ride.

My son saw it, he loved it thanks to the atmosphere it created.  That’s how he put it.
