HoosierCat Posted October 21, 2024 Report Posted October 21, 2024 Eagles spent yesterday mauling the hapless Giants 28-3. It was competitive early tho. Philly didn’t get into the end zone for the first time until 6 minutes into the second quarter and it was 14-3 at the half. Barkley ran for 176 yards, so not looking forward to that. Iggles did lose RG Mekhi Becton to a concussion, we’ll see if he can get back for Cincy. Per Rapoport, OBj has “tennis leg” which teh google tells me is “a calf muscle injury that's commonly caused by a tear in the gastrocnemius muscle.” Good news is it doesn’t require surgery. Bad news is recovery time is 4-6 weeks. Also saw a report that x-rays were negative on Stone. So he banged up his shin but didn’t break anything. Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 21, 2024 Author Report Posted October 21, 2024 Raiders pick up Carter. They’ll have a couple weeks to pump him for info. https://sports.yahoo.com/raiders-sign-former-bengals-3rd-211034113.html Quote
COB Posted October 21, 2024 Report Posted October 21, 2024 Eagles seem to be finding it. But so are we. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 21, 2024 Report Posted October 21, 2024 I still have no idea what to expect from this team. While I like a division road win against the Browns, it doesn’t mean shit regarding this game. I have thought I knew things about this team only to see them get shitted on. Can we get the offense back that was losing games, now that the defense isn’t a complete travesty? If I see one more game where the offense looks timid and scared to be aggressive, my TV isn’t going to make it through the season. Quit being such a bitch Zac and attack. 1 Quote

COB Posted October 22, 2024 Report Posted October 22, 2024 I see the info gathering beginning as follows: Raiders: “Dude, what the fuck happened?” Quote
COB Posted October 22, 2024 Report Posted October 22, 2024 Question 2: Raiders: “what sort of satanic wizardry did you use to get yourself picked in the 3rd round by the Bengals?” 1 Quote
COB Posted October 22, 2024 Report Posted October 22, 2024 Question 3: Raiders: “Look at these 3 large photographs, can you identify the quarterback? Do you know what a quarterback looks like?” 1 Quote
COB Posted October 22, 2024 Report Posted October 22, 2024 Question 4: Raiders: “Zach, you accumulate sacks at a rate of 1 sack per 3 NFL seasons played. Can you bring that up to, say, 2 sacks per 5 NFL seasons played?” Quote
COB Posted October 22, 2024 Report Posted October 22, 2024 Question 5: Raiders: “Have you seen that new Anna Kendrick movie on Netflix?” 1 Quote
COB Posted October 22, 2024 Report Posted October 22, 2024 Question 6: Raiders: “we play the Bengals in a couple weeks. Does Mike Brown really run a dice game on the food and beverage loading dock?” 1 Quote
Stripes Posted October 22, 2024 Report Posted October 22, 2024 I think Barkley annihilating the Giants was at least somewhat due to the added motivation of facing his former team. But clearly the Bengals defense will need to stay on top of the running game. I think they've actually done that pretty well the last three weeks apart from Derrick Henry's very last carry. Jalen Hurts hasn't been great in recent memory, so let's keep it that way. Regardless, this is definitely a better team top-to-bottom than the last two. Can't be laying eggs on offense. Quote

Now Duke Tobin has a three card monte table there, though he calls the game ‘first round’ for some reason.” 1 Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 22, 2024 Author Report Posted October 22, 2024 New PS signing. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/andrew-coker/3200434f-4b42-2041-d6ea-bb25c63df9ec Dominique Davis waived to make a spot. Not a surprise given how thin we suddenly are at OT. Quote

ArmyBengal Posted October 23, 2024 Report Posted October 23, 2024 Forgot this was the white helmet game. Fun to go to that game just for the changes they make around that theme. Won’t be there, just saying is all… Quote

COB Posted October 23, 2024 Report Posted October 23, 2024 These other teams have a lot of nerve going out and trading for good veteran players. Mike needs to give them a good stern talking to, explain his “pay as you go” strategy. They’ll see the light, they’ll abandon these advanced cap management tactics, and they’ll see that these multi billion dollar businesses really are at their best when they are run the way your grandad ran his corner store. 2 Quote

HoosierCat Posted October 24, 2024 Author Report Posted October 24, 2024 Stone DNP, OBj limited today. Not expecting to see either Sunday but a good sign that Brown at least went some. Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 25, 2024 Author Report Posted October 25, 2024 OBj and Stone both limited yesterday. Zac said today both are expected to start Sunday. Meanwhile: Quote Eagles starting tight end Dallas Goedert (hamstring) and right guard Mekhi Becton (concussion) were not at practice on Friday and have missed all three days this week. The Eagles will be down two starting offensive linemen in this game. Jordan Mailata is on IR with a hamstring injury. So the expected starting offensive line in this game will be (from left to right) Fred Johnson, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Steen, Lane Johnson. https://www.nbcsportsphiladelphia.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/injury-report-dallas-goedert-mekhi-becton-nfl-week-8/626379/ Quote
