Just wish he trusted his offense to pick up more yards. Who knows what would have happened either way. The Bengals can’t finish games, and this defense will hold them out of the playoffs. This years just sucks.

Yep, it does. But we knew the d wasn’t playoff quality already. For my part, I’m on to 2025.

I have no words for this fucking team.

Oh wait, yeah I do.

Fuck these guys. Seriously…
FUCK THEM.

Lou should be fired immediately. Playing for a field goal in overtime was a bitch move. This team is fucking soft. I hate them so much right now.

Hey Rehkow, fuck you too.

I’m ready for changes. No way should this team be this bad, but it is. You know it’s not even they are that bad, twice now they put up over 30 points and still lose, it’s they don’t know how to finish games. When one side of the ball does something awesome, the other side of the ball screws it up. Just tired of it now.

Still you score 38 points you should win the freaking game lol

You score 33 points you should win the freaking game!

I can’t even watch this defense anymore it really is the worst thing to watch on TV! I have no clue how Lou or anyone is still here. Yes I know injuries, but wow can’t even make stops when you need them. Lol then when they do the other groups mess up, what freaking circus.

Yup, d is a mess. Bell is toast, Dax is smelling of bust and is hurt now, CTB has regressed and you had a PS corner, Jalen Davis, taking snaps on d today. I thought the line played better but the back half is just so much lawn cuttings for a QB like Jackson to mulch up.

I wouldn’t be suprised if this is a loss where guys start losing it in the locker room turning on each other and it all falls apart. I don’t see them all of a sudden start winning all these games, and coming together. There probably a lot more internal wars on this team then we know. That Super Bowl year things were so knee guys we’re having fun, playing as a team. This looks far from that, very far

For those of us that are Buckeye fans:  Harken back to the 2022 bowl game against Georgia.  Winner goes to the nati and likely wins.  We’re down 1, a minute or so left.  We’re chunking down the field.  We get to the outer limit of our guys range, and fucking idiot Ryan Day quits, calls 3 time killing runs, and our guy misses a 50 yarder.  Yes, our genius was literally playing for a 50 yarder.  Today felt just like that.  Taylor feels like Day.

Much like Hoosier, I expected a loss so I’m right where I thought I would be.  However, the twist now is how I got here.

If you told me Burrow was going to go 30-39 passing for nearly 400 yards, 5 TD’s and they score 38 points, that’s a fucking win. Hell that’s a win for damn near ANY team in the league.

Then the Bad News Bears defense goes out there and proceeds to give up 41 G*ddamn points and they lose the game. Sorry, but regardless of where I expected to be, this is horseshit.

I agree that I thought Burrow was going to throw the D under the bus in his presser. Regardless of being a professional, I think he should have. You send the guy out there who just fucking torched a division rival but took the loss and ask him stupid ass questions about how he feels after that.

I would have felt better had he just said, maybe you guys should ask Lou and the defense because me, Chase, Tee and the rest of the offense crushed it, and then walk off the stage.

There is no silver lining, feel good, cliche filled verbal masturbation to explain what the fuck just happened today.

Make putting up 38 points against the Ravens, while taking the loss make sense and then I will listen.

There’s no question the defense is atrocious, but Burrow publicly ripping them isn’t going to do any good. Frankly, at this point the D is beyond help. The time to fix it was last winter and spring. We’re five weeks into the season, they have the players they have, and there are no miracles coming. All there is to do is ride out the season and use it to evaluate what, if anything, is worth keeping.

Sadly, on defense I think the answer is going to be, “not much.” But that’s getting ahead of ourselves.

All they needed was a a average defense middle of the pact defense, and they literally gave a high school defense instead. This offense looks championship ready, and the defense can’t get stops when needed.

The aggressiveness of this team is gone, who knows now what that game took out of them or if they even have anything left. They finally give Burrow a good o-line, and now the defense can’t stop anybody. Almost put 40 on the Ravens and lose what a freaking joke!

Agree Hoosier… Burrow ripping the defense isn’t going to help and would probably make it worse.

It just would have made ME feel better.
I mean, why are they forgetting about how I feel about this?

Ok here’s another idea then…
Who are the defensive team captains for 2024? Well that would be Sam Hubbard, Vonn Bell and Germaine Pratt, and ADG (although he’s for special teams).

How about the next time (and you know it’s coming) they shit the bed, instead of Burrow going out there to answer questions, one of those “Captains” handle that? Bell is called “The General” and was brought back for his leadership. Well Vonn, show some leadership and don’t leave your QB having to answer for you and your defensive teams screw ups.

Yes it is what it is..
An absolute abortion of a defense.
2024 in nutshell.

Yes, I’m really angry.

I hear ya Army. And I do like your captains idea.

Wasting the best offense I have seen here in a long time is such a shame.

yup. But this is what you get with our FO. They’re sitting on $10 million in cap space but couldn’t afford Reader. They got $20+ million for one year for Tee but couldn’t pay Bates. Other teams find ways around this, they extend guys and lower cap numbers and convert salaries to bonuses etc., etc. The Bengals cry poverty, let talent walk and wonder why rookies and street FAs don’t play as well.

None of this is to absolve poor play or coaching on the field. But if you want to know why we never seem to be able to have a good O and D at the same time, or why coaching isn’t held accountable for performance, that’s on The Family.

100% agree.  Mike seems to think there is some sort of honor and integrity in managing your cap in the most transparent and straightforward way possible.

The game has moved on.  Other teams re-do deals to manage the cap hit.  They engage in  all sorts of contractual gymnastics to field the best team while complying with the spending controls.  You know what?  It’s a lot of work.  Mike and company are not up to it.

The Brown family really should sell the team.  They have a multi billion dollar fortune all tied up in one asset.  It is truly insane.  Sell it, invest it across many sectors and thousands of businesses, and you are not at such great risk.

It is kind of sad.  Mike desperately wanted to win a Super Bowl.  His own stubborn, intractable, nature will ultimately prevent him from doing so.

How appropriate that his legacy could be: finally got one of the best QBs in the game, 1970s style roster management still keeps the team in also ran status.

Which is what makes this team harder and harder to root for. I mean I’ve been here forever and of course not going anywhere, but my give a F*cks just about ran out! They don’t pay guys who matter on this team, let them walk away, and when they have money from letting guys walk away they still don’t pay the guys they saved there money for. Like others said make it make sense, problem is it never will make sense, this is who they are.

Who would have thought we would be talking like this when they have an offense like that. It’s just so frustrating anymore

"The world is coming to an end" as I totally agree with Volcom this defence is the most awful run unit in the league.  They have the vast majority of the cap on the Offence which is playing great football when Zac doesn't fuck it up with his shit ass play calling.  The D just cannot play 3 downs effectively.  They get a good first down stop, then make it a short to long 3rd down with 2nd down hustle and then just absolutely blow the 3rd down by sitting to far off WR that when they catch the ball they are almost at first down yardage and no one is near.  The players don't know what decisions to make in zone, on the Ravens 2nd TD CTB passes off Bateman and no one is aware of him and he is wide open for a TD.  obviously the opposing team is scheming against what the D does and runs plays to take advantage of what they see but the fundamentals are so poor from the D its laughable.

Lou will not be fired, Zac will not be fired, because as we have all learned being fans of this franchise, the Bengals are loyal.
