COB
I’ve contacted that concrete plant beside our practice facility.  The conversation centered around a long list of reasons they should consider adding an Arby’s to their facility.
COB
Chase would likely be signed at any other NFL franchise. Â Only Mike would make this dude play out his rookie deal. Â

COB
Mike and company may just have an intense aversion to having the highest paid qb in the nfl AND the highest paid wide receiver in the NFL on the team at the same time.   Has Burrow been passed yet?  I’d expect he has.  If Mike drags his feet and forces Chase to play his final year, the possibility exists JaMarr will look elsewhere.  Then he could get tagged.  Could be messy.
ArmyBengal
Didn’t see the run down from today but saw where the Bengals are hosting current UFL offensive player of the year. WR Hakeem Butler Make what you want of that. Dude has been everywhere and finally had a decent year by UFL standards. He’s 6’6 though so at least there’s that. WelshBengal
This Jamarr thing is 100% a Holdout/in whatever media wants to call it, the front office sure as hell better be in discussion's right now with his agent or otherwise I am gonna fly over to the US find an appropriate sized building to lie on in full view of everyone and pop a round into Mikes head. AMPHAR
The J'mar Chase stuff is 100% media boredom.   The media folk have fear mongered and trolled Bengal fans for nearly 2 years with gloom and doom over a Burrow extension. 1. IF there was any serious risk of Chase being mad about not having a new deal. He wouldn't be there at all and there would be serious threat already lobbied stating he's not coming until week 11 or whatever is the last possible date to accrue the season.   Until that happens it should be a non story.  Just more fear mongering and trolling Bengal fans. 2. IF he is actually "hold in".  Well that means they've kept a new deal a secret and its looming. Which greatly destroys the Burrow "new deal" fear mongering and its actually great fucking news. He'll probably practice next week or something as these aren't really the hard core training camps of yester year.  The lack of a Chase extension could easily be explained that his camp reasonably thinks they can beat the JJ deal with a JJ like top season and another year of massive cap growth.   Cap tracking sites are already putting it at $273m which would be another $20m growth. I would think Chase would at least have to put up 1,600 yards or more.
ArmyBengal
Obviously I don't have a stake in Ja'Marr's coming deal so in the grand scheme of things, I don't care. My opinion on the situation has nothing to do with whatever stupid media thoughts are out there. It's simply an easy viewpoint for anyone who follows the game. Ja'Marr is due a new deal and deserves it more than most. Him playing for peanuts this year is ridiculous. The Bengals shouldn't be ashamed because the media says so, they should be ashamed because they are screwing him. I don't need anyone else to point that easily deduced thought process out. Now, Zac said this was part of the plan heading into camp and that holds with me. Fine. I don't think Ja'Marr is going anywhere because I honestly don't think he wants to play with anyone but Burrow. None of it means the situation isn't complete BS. It's not like he finally had a good year and they don't know what to do. This has been coming since his rookie year. Dude is EXTREMELY underpaid in comparison to other WR's out there. If he is "holding in", which I'm not sold on, I really don't care about that either. I would say, at least he's there. Just get it done Bengals.

Assuming it has been offered. However, the cap is already projected to grow to $273M. Another $18m jump.  JJ has been over 1,600 yards twice. Chase never.  Cap growth plus a 1,600 year puts him in a spot to beat the JJ deal.  With what he's already proved in the league he probably doesn't have much risk falling out of top 10 deal status. I don't know.   Its not worth lobbying a bunch of blame at the front office or digging up the old "hold out" takes until Chase packs his bags and heads back to the Bayou and proclaims see you in November. I don't think he's "holding in".  It be awesome if that were the case because that means a new deal is looming.  Its probably a Zac club med camp approach.
ArmyBengal
The stats are really odd to take a look at. There have been years where from a receiving yards perspective, "this" group of WR's are the best, but when looking at it from a TD's perspective, "this" group which is different from the other are the best. There have been years where Chase has done better and Jefferson has done better in one category or the other. Big plays, over 20 yards is another odd one to look at as well, where only once has Chase finished in the top 20 of the league. Another thing to consider when looking at stats for WR's is, who's the QB and what other receiving options are there? Chase has always had Higgins as a running mate, where Jefferson didn't have anyone to note until last year (Addison). When the Vikings brought in Addison, things changed a bit. He had more TD's and only 100 yards less than Jefferson. Does any of that make any of those guys better or worse than another? Not in and of the stats themselves. There are probably a handful of WR's in the league (maybe) more than could lay claim to being the best WR in the league. No matter where Chase falls in that grouping, he's going to be looking to reset the WR market when he does sign. To bring this full circle with the front office, EVERYONE who follows football knows the cap has and will continue to grow. When Mike Brown makes a comment like "The pie is not going to grow" it's just incorrect. It grows out of control. This is where I think Mike Brown's age is really catching up. They should just let "Pumpkin" do the talking. Sooner or later they should not let the soon to be 89 year old man get in front of media folks looking to bite into him. I've never felt bad for that man, but I hate watching older people struggle. I'm not there but will be some day. Someone better not put a mic in my face at that age, because you will probably hear some outlandish shit.
HoosierCat
Mo’ punters, mo’ punters, mo’ punters… Quote Former BYU punter Ryan Rehkow was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals on Friday. Rehkow will participate in training camp in Cincinnati where he will compete to earn a spot on the roster. The Bengals have two other punters on the roster in Austin McNamara and Brad Robbins. https://www.si.com/college/byu/cougars-in-the-pros/former-byu-punter-ryan-rehkow-signs-with-the-cincinnati-bengals
ArmyBengal
I actually like the addition of Rehkow and McNamara. There were plenty of draft analysts that had them both in the top 3 of punters this past year. Might not beat out Mr. Mustache, but competition is a good thing. AMPHAR
I'll just fly this warning flag up.   Today is first day of pads so keep that in mind.   However, from what I observed from my visits to TC.  Myles Murphy is running with the scrubs.   We'll see if anything changes once the pads come on, but this is one situation that caught my eye and I'll be interested to see when his snaps come in preseason. Also Mims is very mobile for his size.  They have him pulling and he can get out in front of screens. Kick off coverage, looked very good from what I observed. Most of the time the guy returner would have been contacted before the 20.   Again a lot can change once pads come on.
ArmyBengal
The defense is going to be interesting to watch this year. I don't necessarily mean "fun" interesting, but rather "hopeful" interesting. It could get to "fun", but there seems to be more unknowns on that side of the ball. Will the revamping of the secondary pay off with the addition of Geno Stone and Vonn Bell at safety? Will Jordan Battle be pushing Vonn Bell for the starters spot? Will Dax Hill make an impact at the CB spot? What happens with the departure of Reader and the addition of Rankins and Jenkins? Is Hendrickson holding in? Can Hubbard stay healthy? Will Murphy live up to his draft status?  Oddly enough, as much as I bring up the linebackers, they might be the most known element to the defense at this point. That being said, I'm not a fan of the depth at all, but that's pretty minimal in the defensive grand scheme. Overall, I like the additions they made in both free agency and the draft and am hopeful it all comes together. Anarumo better have these guys ready to go for the start of the season.
