ArmyBengal Posted August 26, 2024 Report Posted August 26, 2024 I gave Pittman's stats as a comparison since he signed a new deal during the offseason and came in the same class as JJ and Lamb. Quote
HoosierCat Posted August 29, 2024 Author Report Posted August 29, 2024 D Jizzy Watson, the gift that keep on giving...laffs to the rest of the AFCN. Quote The Cleveland Browns have restructured quarterback Deshaun Watson's contract, a league source told ESPN's Field Yates, in a move that creates $35.832 million in salary cap space. Cleveland converted $44.79 million of Watson's $46 million 2024 base salary into a signing bonus, the source told Yates. The move gives the Browns more than $62 million in cap space, the most in the NFL. The Clowns are already $44 million over next season's estimated cap, so most of that will be rolled over and soaked up without any other benefit to the team. The restructure also didn't add any additional years to Watson's contract (tho they did add a void year in last year's restructure), so yeah: Quote Watson will have cap hits of $72.9 million each in the 2025 and 2026 seasons, with $172 million and $99 million dead cap hits, respectively. Insane. Dumbest contract ever remains the dumbest contact ever. Quote
AMPHAR Posted August 29, 2024 Report Posted August 29, 2024 The Browns had a good roster, still do. They gambled at the QB spot as the final piece. So far they lost. I believe a lot of their defenders are on back loaded deals. The franchise guys will stay, but Cleveland after this season will have to revert to relying more and more on draft picks and cheaper players. Quote

COB Posted August 29, 2024 Report Posted August 29, 2024 The league owners just voted to allow private equity firms to buy into teams, up to 10% stake with no influence on decisions. The vote was nearly unanimous. The lone no vote? Our iconoclastic owner. Mike truly is one of a kind. Quote
HoosierCat Posted August 29, 2024 Author Report Posted August 29, 2024 Yah that’s down in the bubble thread. Mike never changes. Quote
AMPHAR Posted August 29, 2024 Report Posted August 29, 2024 NFL has been great at sucking money out of average Joe NFL fan. I'd imagine PE investment they'll get even better at it. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted August 29, 2024 Report Posted August 29, 2024 Well Aiyuk just got a new deal at $30 per year. 1 Quote

We’ll see how that goes. Quote
COB Posted September 2, 2024 Report Posted September 2, 2024 I’m holding a serious grudge against our front office for letting Perine go to the Chiefs. I hated it when they did it and now as the days pass it’s only getting worse. 1 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 2, 2024 Report Posted September 2, 2024 I agree and have said so before COB. Knowing Perrine is one of the better blocking backs, how do you not try to bring him back? To make matters worse, he goes to KC. I look at him the same way I look at Terrace Marshall. They couldn’t get rid of 1-2 scrubs to get those two in here? Maybe they tried, maybe those guys will suck. I’m just not thinking that’s the case case with Perrine and Marshall would have had great familiarity here. Yeah, irritates me. Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 9, 2024 Author Report Posted September 9, 2024 Oh look more ugly sexual assault shit about Watson. Browns might be able to weasel out of that hell contract after all. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/deshaun-watson-sued-for-sexual-assault-browns-qb-named-in-disturbing-new-lawsuit-arising-from-2020-incident/ Quote
COB Posted September 10, 2024 Report Posted September 10, 2024 So glad I started that law firm that specializes in morality clause enforcement. About to get paid! 1 Quote

Dee. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 10, 2024 Report Posted September 10, 2024 Maybe the Browns hired someone to make another complaint against him because there's a loophole in his contract to avoid paying him all that coin they owe him? Probably not, but that thought jumped in my head. Pay some crack head whore $1 million to spin the story and they save almost $100 million (or some ungodly amount) by getting out of the contract. That crack head whore would have a statue built in her honor in the city of Cleveland. 1 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 12, 2024 Report Posted September 12, 2024 Well Jonah Williams moved on to Arizona and, well… he’s hurt and out for the next 4 weeks with a knee injury. Quote

ArmyBengal Posted September 12, 2024 Report Posted September 12, 2024 Agreed that it’s sucks for him. Never really lived up to the height of his draft selection, but wished him well nonetheless. 1 Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 3, 2024 Author Report Posted October 3, 2024 Quote The NFL world is about to get a taste of more MMA this winter as Pittsburgh Steelers legend James Harrison announced that he and former Cincinnati Bengals great Chad 'Ochocinco' Johnson would take the ring in New Orleans before the Super Bowl. Today in news I post that will annoy Army. https://www.si.com/nfl/steelers/news/pittsburgh-steelers-james-harrison-announces-fight-bengals-chad-johnson 1 Quote
AMPHAR Posted October 3, 2024 Report Posted October 3, 2024 Is Chad Ochocinco fighting Harrison or are they fighting different people? I hope its the latter. Quote
COB Posted October 3, 2024 Report Posted October 3, 2024 There is no way those two would be anywhere close in weight, so it’s got to be other opponents. Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 3, 2024 Author Report Posted October 3, 2024 They are allegedly fighting each other. Quote
