HoosierCat Posted September 8, 2023 Report Posted September 8, 2023 Uncle Sam just got paid too. Quote $20.3 million will go to Federal Taxes $1.7 million will go to an Agent Fee $1.6 million will go to Jock Tax $1.3 million to FICA/Medicare $1.1 million for Ohio Tax So, after getting taxed out the ass, Burrow will actually walk away with about $29 million per year. ArmyBengal Posted September 8, 2023 Report Posted September 8, 2023 They should absolutely try to keep Higgins, I'm not suggesting they simply give up the thought. However, it will definitely present a major challenge to fit all these guys in. If they go that route to keep him, draft picks better start and produce much sooner than in recent years. Outside of the agent, I won't compare this to Bates' situation. There was simply no way they were keeping him. They were never going to pay a safety a top of the market deal with so many others needing to be done. 1 Quote

Well, he's building a monster house in Anderson Township, so he's about to learn about property taxes real quick as well. This is becoming a popular area with him, Mixon, Orlando Brown and Duke Tobin all living around the way. 1 Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 9, 2023 Report Posted September 9, 2023 Bengals make it official: https://www.bengals.com/news/joe-burrow-contract-extension-2023 Quote "My father always said that in the NFL, the quarterback is like the key to your car," said Bengals President Mike Brown. "You can have a great car, but you need a key to get the car going and to operate it at a high level. We feel that we have a good one in Joe. Well, it’s a step up from hogs at the trough… Quote

COB Posted September 10, 2023 Report Posted September 10, 2023 Mike on Tee’s extension: ”My dad always made a stew for us. He said, ‘this stew is like a football team, it needs some potatos,’ He also would put some rocks in there, in our stew. Potato stew with some rocks in it, that’s how you build a team. Tee Higgins is good at football.” 1 Quote
