TJJackson Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 Hopkins was not the problem :-( I get that he would be a backup and was being paid starter money, but still Quote
membengal Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 Ben baby says collins is in the building now. Hopefully he doesn’t leave without signing a deal. Quote

TJJackson Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 I get that, but Hopkins wasnt our 10th or 11th best OL either its a money issue, dammit I get it, I just dont like it. I hope the sides remain amicable to a re-signing at a lower (backup) rate Quote
membengal Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 No one pays their backup centers 6 million a year, TJ. Quote
AMPHAR Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 Again there’s more to football than PFF which is Hopkins claim to average. He got to follow nightmares in Bodine and Price. Not to any way stick up for Turner but is it any shock the turnover in the OL room? They simply didn’t have high caliber players. Quote

ArmyBengal Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 Hopkins was barely average, but I never really hated on the guy. I just always thought they could do better. Them drafting a late round center last year and signing Karras this off season, ALONG with the 6 million in savings was all you needed to know. That all being said, thanks for being a part of getting us to the Super Bowl last year Hopkins. Good luck to him !! Quote
TJJackson Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 Army: if you could get him re-signed as a backup to both OC and OG for lets say 3-3.5M.... would you? I would without hesitation Quote

God reading Bodine gave me shivers. Ban that name from the site. Quote
HoosierCat Posted March 18, 2022 Author Report Posted March 18, 2022 Rapoport: Deshaun Watson plans to waive his no-trade clause to the #Browns, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. Yes, the Browns!! Trade compensation still to be finalized with the #Texans, but Watson has made his choice: He expects to go to Cleveland. Quote
HoosierCat Posted March 18, 2022 Author Report Posted March 18, 2022 Deshaun Watson gets a fully guaranteed 5 year $230M contract. That is $80M more than the previous record for fully guaranteed money at signing ($150M). This deal was negotiated by David Mulugheta of Athletes First. 230 million in guaranteed coin…Mikey just shat a brick. 1 Quote
TJJackson Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 well, that sucks....i thought Cleveland had been declared out of the running Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 3 first round picks and two more later ?? Then they guarantee his entire 230 million contract ?? Something tells me this won't work out that well for the Browns, who I don't think have the talent on that roster to be able to afford 3 seasons worth of 1st rounders. That being said, what must the Steelers be thinking right now in having to face Burrow, Jackson and now Watson for 6 total games from here out ?? It sure as hell isn't, "At least we have Mitchell Trubitchski" !!! 1 Quote
AMPHAR Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 I thought the Cleveland handshake would be hard to pass up. Quote
redsbengalsbucks Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 Win now mode, but two years to late. The team they have is no longer in contention, even with Watson. Quote
HoosierCat Posted March 18, 2022 Author Report Posted March 18, 2022 Schefter: JuJu Smith-Schuster announced he is going to Kansas City. Quote
